* The History of the Tiger-Obama T-Shirt Meme. During the week of the British Open, a Twitter follower of ours tweeted the pic that Geoff Shackelford has posted on his site of a Bruce Vilanch impersonator wearing a shirt in some US airport Love Field in Dallas that reads, “Give Tiger A Break, Obama Is Screwing the Whole Country.” Well, seems like the photo has been around longer than that. Maybe back to July 16 or so, depending on which Internet site you search. The meme has been around even longer. In fact, the Dallas Police Department liked it so much that they put a poster with the phrase on their station display case. The same guy behind “Get a brain, MORANS” also made a handwritten poster of it at a Tea Party rally. [Waggle Room]
* A Chris Cooley Fan Cannot be Explained. A fan displays her painted stomach for Chris Cooley on the first day of training camp for the Washington Redskins July 29, 2010 in Ashburn, Virginia. You’re going to wish that she hadn’t. [Bob's Blitz]
* Eisen Contract Up August 1, New Deal Unsigned. NFL Network lead host Rich Eisen guested on the Dan Patrick Show this morning and was asked about my report yesterday that he was “fearful” for his job after the NFL recently hired former ESPN programming chief Mark Shapiro. (Shapiro was in part responsible for ESPN not renewing Eisen’s contract in 2003 — leading to his departure from the network.) Audio of Eisen’s remarks and a transcript of his comments are below. * Also: Don’t mess with Texas, or their logo … Nothing to do on Saturday? You obviously didn’t know that it’s William Seward Bobblehead Night with the Auburn Doubledays (presented by Bass pro Shops).
