Carrie Underwood set to marry NHLer Mike Fisher, but I'm still holding out hope

Jul 10, 2010, 12:00 PM EDT

mike_fisher_carrie_underwood.jpgC’mon, Carrie! Please reconsider before you make a ginormous mistake and marry some stupid hockey player.
Just remember, Carrie: my offer still stands. I wonder if the gorgeous country music starlet has even taken a moment to contemplate what she’s losing out on by not even responding to my romantical marriage proposals. Not only am I a big time sports blogger, I thought all girls dug macaroni art. I guess chicks just find guys who play hockey for Canadian hockey teams intoxicating or something. Lame.
In any event, it appears that the nuptials between Miss Underwood and – ahem, that guy – are a go. Reports indicate the so-called lovebirds will wed in a lavish, half-million dollar ceremony this weekend at Ritz Carlton, Reynolds Plantation just outside Atlanta, Georgia.

Some of the painfully-damaging, jealousy-inducing details (via Radar Online):

“She has blocked off all 251 rooms at the hotel,” says Carey Williams, editor of The Herald Journal in Greensboro.

Rooms range from $300 to $1,500 a night.
Underwood and Fisher will spend their first night as husband and wife in the Presidential House, which is fit for the country princess and hockey’s hunkiest star.
For a whopping $4,000 a night, the couple will get VIP use of the lake and the 18th green on the golf course — not that we think golf is on their agenda.
The massive 5,400 square-foot suite comes with four master suites, including two king-size rooms and two double bedrooms, a gourmet kitchen, terrace with access to the recreation room, private pool, living room and dining room that seats 16 people.

Yeah, it sounds great. Really, really, really great. You know what, Carrie? Forget about it. Go ahead and marry your Ottawa Senator. As far as I’m concerned, we’re through. You missed the boat, baby. From now on, I’m will be spending all my energies and implementing my mastery of the timeless art of seduction on Shania Twain.
