And there you have it folks; one man’s review of the big LeBron James ESPN special on Thursday night; although I think that award-winning author and professional grouch Buzz Bissinger speaks for most of the media, and possibly the viewing public. As for myself, I didn’t watch it … it became clear hours before The Decision that it was going to be Miami, and that LeBron knew possibly as far back as August, 2008, when he, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh first hatched this Three Amigos script. I would have liked to see LeBron’s reaction to the Cavs’ fans burning his jersey, however. Feel the perfect warmth of their loathing, Bronny.
But my favorite part of this entire saga was the deranged open letter from Cavaliers majority owner Dan Gilbert, in which he vivisected LeBron, called his decision “narcissistic,” “cowardly,” and “heartless,” and went on to guarantee an NBA championship in Cleveland “before the self-titled former King ever wins one.”
The whole thing is written, hilariously, in comic sans; a font reserved for announcements on gaming web sites and notes stuck to your refrigerator reminding you of the AYSO barbecue. It made me laugh even harder because of this recent, fairly awesome piece in McSweeny’s, in which comic sans trashes its detractors, declaring itself “the best thing to happen to typography since Johannes f***ing Gutenberg.” Ha.
I think Free Darko said it best: “Please let comic sans be a trending topic tonight.” Yep. Anything but LeBron.
I like to think of Friday as a mischievous badger.
ABOUT LAST NIGHT
What you missed while composing a subtle message to the judge …
* The General Authority of Islamic Affairs issues a fatwa on the vuvuzela. Seems reasonable.
* CBS.com columnist tries Purple Drank. Declares it “mellow,” pleads with authorities to go easy on him.
* LeBron James ESPN special expected to generate $2.5 million for Boys & Girls Clubs of America. So there’s that.

TODAY IN MARK TRAIL …
Sure, fringe-footed sand lizard … you can dive into the sand to escape your predators. But can you hide from the truth?

ok…so the guy is narcissistic and greedy…most all become like that over time…feeding one’s ego on a small scale with room for more only makes one queer as they age (for the mentally challenged I can explain here—when ego eats up the small stuff, it grows and wants bigger stuff, and this blind feeding makes one looking to feed on queer/strange stuff when one is in their 30′s and 40s—ego moves to fast, become poison, no time for reflection, inner pollution permanent)…wait and see.
but hey, wait, why are so many “fans” upset? Is it about being a poor role model? C’mon…we, as a culture are way beyond that level of decency aren’t we. Isn’t this a “non-consequential entertainment activity” where our great culture feeds into it(via buying Brett Favre’s choice of undies to Hillary Clintons blatant (and excused) lies, to Paul Newman’s salad dressing, which is actually decent) a clulture mindless of any consquences and sense of right EXCEPT “win the game man”
oh…and hello to the fine Pittsburgh QB who the same “Fans” will not push to get rid of, just moan about how he is a poor role model, which he seems a terrible human. (and then pay to go to the game as they do so)
Role models? Ya gotta be kidding! Look att yourself in the mirror dad…when you invested in Wall Street, was there an conscience about who your were feeding with your money? or how one can make money so easily doing little to nothing?
