As Minor League player meltdowns go, this is pretty awesome

Jul 2, 2010, 1:00 PM EDT

That’s the thing about being a designated hitter; since you’re not playing defense, you have plenty of energy for arguing with umpires. Here’s Ray Serrano of the Sioux City Explorers, in a display that’s scary at first (he makes a couple of gestures with his bat that makes the home plate umpire flinch), and then quickly becomes comical. Let’s cover home plate with dirt, add water, and mix!
The Explorers were playing at Wichita, who decided to play the theme from Law and Order after Serrano was ejected. Funny. Serrano, by the way, isn’t technically a minor leaguer; he’s played for 13 teams over 11 seasons, rising as high as Triple-A in 2008. But the past two seasons have been in Independent League baseball.

He should talk to another “Cerano” about hitting the curve ball.

He’s actually trying to draw a map to go steal the Declaration of Independence, because if we don’t take it and look at the directions on the back, WE’RE ALL DOOMED.
