A year ago, Erin Andrews was a sports broadcasting novelty adored by sports bloggers, yet unknown by pretty much anyone else besides people with broken remotes who were forced to watch the Scripps National Spelling Bee. She soldiered on after the infamous peeping Tom incident, and arose from that unfortunate situation like a golden-haired phoenix out of the ashes of her emotionally distraught state to become the household name and television sensation she is today. Whether she’s getting her prance on at Dancing With the Stars or cavorting around town with various paramours including DWTS partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Packers’ quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Erin’s become a bona fide queen of the tabloids star.
And bona fide stars need to get paid. And though she loves working for ESPN, her fame may force them to head their separate ways. Her contract expires on Thursday and her future is much in doubt, but according to a tweet by John Ourand of Sports Business Journal, Erin’s heading back to the WWL.

Erin Andrews will be staying at ESPN, according to Jim Miller, who is teaming with Tom Shales to write the definitive book on the network.

Though a contract has yet to be signed, Ourand’s a pretty reliable source so don’t be surprised if you see Andrews back on the sidelines strutting her stuff and making college baseball players giddy by her presence. How would Erin’s money situation work out, you ask? Let’s just say if she wanted she could have maintenance remove every peephole from every hotel room she ever stays in and still have millions of dollars to spare. From Sports by Brooks:

Her deal would be somewhat similar to how college football and basketball coaches are paid at many high profile schools. The coach gets a small base salary from the university and then large annual payouts from endorsement and media deals that are largely arranged by the school.

I guess you can say life’s been good to her so far.

I’ll be glad when her 15 minutes is up. She has no class, and is awful at a job that a penguin could do.
