It looks like our old cheez doodle popping buddy Stephen A. Smith, who famously flamed out with the highly entertaining in all the wrong ways Quite Frankly show on ESPN, may be making a triumphant return to television in the form of a late night yell-a-thon on Showtime. Did you know that he has a close relationship with Allen Iverson? True. Smith, who was let go by ESPN because they finally realized that though his yelling was filled with passion, it really wasn’t very informative, will get to rap once a week on topics that aren’t always sports. We should probably watch because EVERYTHING HE SAYS IS IMPORTANT!

The pay cable channel Showtime is in serious talks with Stephen A. Smith, the outspoken sports commentator about hosting a late night talk show.

Smith is no stranger to anyone who watches ESPN or Fox Sports. Besides being a regular on ESPN’s basketball show “NBA Shootaround,” he also had his own show on ESPN2 called “Quite Frankly wth Stephen A. Smith.” He currently hosts a nationally syndicated radio show.
Smith’s show would be weekly and focus on more than sports, said a Showtime insider to the Los Angeles Times. Smith said there isn’t much that he would “shy away from” with regard to topics.
The only time I’d ever allow Stephen A. back onto a late night talk show is if he were my bumbling sidekick who I insulted every time he attempted to talk.

Stephen A.: JOSIAH, you bring up some INTERESTING points. HOW-EVAH, BRUSHING YOUR TEETH is a GREAT WORKOUT for your fore-ARMS AND-

Josiah: STEPHEN, SHUT UP. JUST..JUST SHUT UP. Someone turn off his microphone please.

Stephen A: (muffled yells)

Josiah: Thank you.
