Wasn’t it the movie Ben Hur in which Charlton Heston has a chance encounter with Jesus, who changes the slave’s life by offering him a cup of water? A similar thing happened on Sunday, it seems, as golf fan Jeremy May was touched by the divine hand of Tiger Woods, and is still talking about it in reverent tones. He’s even constructed a Facebook page based the encounter, in which Woods hit May with an errant drive at the Memorial, and then gave him an autographed glove as an apology. In fact, meeting Woods just have been more special to May than a meeting with Christ would have been. Just listen to May here:
“I put my hand out, shook his hand. He said, ‘Sorry about that. I can’t give you my ball, but I can give you my glove.’ So he took out a pen and signed his glove and took it off and handed it to me and shook my hand.”
(CHORUS OF ANGELS).
May talked about being hit by Woods on KHBK Radio in Sacramento recently. On if he can still feel the injury.
“Yeah. The muscle right in the area underneath the skin is, like if you push on it, it’s like you pulled that muscle in the neck. It didn’t bruise, but it did swell up and I put ice on it right away. I did have a gold chain on. One of the guys said that the gold chain might have protected it.”
Or … angels.
On his Tiger Hit Me Facebook page, May tells us that his name appears “over 500 times on Google!”, and he promotes the radio interviews he’s done, and points us to media accounts of Tiger’s wild Memorial, in which he hit three fans with errant shots.
This is taking things a bit overboard, if I may say so. Even if Jesus hit me with a golf shot, I don’t think I’s put up a Facebook page about it. Although, moot point … Jesus doesn’t slice.

Chandler sound like you are a little jealous. If was your choice to write about Jeramy May and what he was doing. So you are adding to how important it was for him to get hit. You report make me sick.

The fact that this reporter has taken the time to search Jeramy’s FB page shows that he (Chandler) too is trying to get some attention by writing this. Maybe what you don’t know is that yes, Jeramy is in over 500 goggle searches from AROUND the world. Jeramy was NOT the one that was searching out the attention – these reporters came to him. Also he’s in newspapers AROUND the world and I am almost postive that he doesn’t have connections with other countries asking them to report on him. Why are you making such a stink about his “15 mins”? Could it because you didn’t report on it first? Jeramy NEVER mentioned that Jesus or Angels protected him. HOWEVER – he (Jeramy) did in fact protect his 2 daughters that were with him. Did you even take the time to interview him? He would tell you that his concerns were his girls and his recently broken collar bone! He has actually taken the high road and has made light of the whole thing. He is NOT seeking reporters out – did he look for you? No – but you wrote about him anyways.

Hi Faith,
People get hit by golf balls at every event, but becuase it was by Tiger, Jeremy starts a facebook page? It’s all so humorous and I enjoy reading Ricks blogs. As for you, why do you dislike anyone who writes negatively about Tiger? You and Dina are the idiots. I can’t imagine what your life would be like if Tiger touched and looked you in the eyes – fireworks I’m sure.
I hear Tiger has a new best friend, Peter North.

Thank you for the nice comments Faith and Dina. As for JEG what did Faith or Dina ever do to you to deserve a basklash? Just like I didn’t deserve one from Rick C. A lot of times people are jealous and unhappy with their own life, so they have to make fun of the ones who make light of the situation. Because it could have a a horrifing ending. I know of a person who was killed by getting hit in head. And it could have been my daughters that were hurt or killed by that shot! And if you don’t have children then you have no clue what I am saying. So its time for you negative guys to chill! And funny Dee but there is no such FaceBook page or I would have mentioned that one on my page.

Hi Jeramy,
Sorry it took so long to respond – celebrating my oldest sons college graduation. I guess I’ll start off by saying the name of this bolg is Out of Bounds and if you were a long time reader, you would know of Rick’s humor. You should be happy you’re getting some press! I think it’s funny anyone who reads all this stuff gets so worked up. I also find it humorous that anyone thinks Tiger is a man of character, and so when a story like yours comes along, it is funny. And if going to a golf event is as dangerous as you make it seem, why take your daughters? Why you should be protecting them from Tiger! Good god, if one of them were married to him. You should join Tiger’s Idiot Fan Club.
