Tuesday Blogdome: Eminem, Roethlisberger and Vick together at last
Jun 8, 2010, 5:00 PM EDT
* Eminem Namedrops Roethlisberger, Vick on New Album ‘Recovery’. The first song, “Cold Wind Blows,” has the Vick reference: “I’m nuts, Michael Vick in this b—- dog. Fall back you mutts.” Track No. 14, “Almost Famous” references Roethlisberger in a particularly graphic manner that one-ups his other reference to the Steelers QB. I’m not able to actually put the entire lyric in this post, but he ends it with “They call me Slim Roethlisberger.” (Let’s just say that Eminem’s line leads you to believe he isn’t a big believer in the QB’s innocence.) * Google hides World Cup Easter egg in search. Google has changed a single search page to prepare us all for the FIFA World Cup, which is slated to begin in just two days. When users type “World Cup” into Google Search, they will find a different header at the bottom of the page where Google allows users to click on the desired page in results. Instead of the familiar “Goooooogle,” the page says, “Goooooooal!.” [CNet]
* Stealing Strasmas. They growled with their hook-hands nervously strumming, “We MUST find some way to stop Strasmas from coming!” For tonight they knew all the Nationals’ fans, Would get to the park and rush up the stands! [WHYGAVS]
* Finally, The Chinese Get The Last Laugh On Those Racist Spanish Bastards! As the old saying goes, “Revenge is a dish best served cold.” And that certainly seems to be the case with the news that the most popular counterfeit World Cup jerseys in the Chinese black market are those for the country of Spain. * Also: … Assistant youth hockey coach attacks opposing player in penalty box, spends night in jail. Thank you, Florida … how to totally irritate a Packers fan … Woody Allen playing basketball. Don’t recall that scene in Annie Hall.
