Morning Tweet: the curious case of the disappearing tweet

May 29, 2010, 9:30 AM EDT

One can hardly blame Orioles outfielder Adam Jones for his frustration after being detained by Canadian immigration officials on Thursday night, but as you can see to the right, Jones was apparently particularly frustrated by the fact the Orioles didn’t appear to check in on him and offer assistance. Big League Stew noticed that the tweet quickly disappeared and now the status of Jones’ Twitter account is protected. What happened? Who took down the tweet? More importantly, who privatized his Twitter account? Jones himself? The Orioles? Overreaching Canadians? The ghost of Michael Jackson? Quite the conundrum which I am far too lazy and disinterested to investigate or unravel. It’s Memorial Day weekend, for Pete’s sake.
Saturday! Well, then. G’day mate! Let’s put another shrimp on the barbie!

I don’t know. If I were a stray dog, I wouldn’t trust this old lady. Something about her shawl rubs me the wrong way.
