U.S. soccer fans to England: We'll just take a little off the top

I’m all for a little trash talking heading into the World Cup, but isn’t this a bit graphic? U.S. soccer fans celebrated (?) their 4-2 loss to the Czech Republic on Tuesday by taunting the British with this poster, which depicts Landon Donovan having just cut off Wayne Rooney’s head with a bread knife. Donovan made the first cut on May 12 when he told Yahoo Sports that Rooney “has played a lot of games and he is tired. He is probably worn out.” The two nations of course will meet in their World Cup opener in Rustenburg on June 12.
The reference to 1950, by the way, marks our 1-0 World Cup win over England. Al Michaels was 5 years old at the time, so the victory was not immortalized with a catch phrase.
