Lance Armstrong back in the saddle; will race next week

May 26, 2010, 8:45 PM EDT

Nearly one week after his gravel face plant in Visalia (hey, I’ve been there), Lance Armstrong has announced via Twitter and his Team Radio Shack web site that he’s returning to compete in the Tour of Luxembourg June 2-6. Armstrong, facing new doping allegations from former teammate Floyd Landis, fell over the infamous invisible raccoon on Thursday at the Tour of California, receiving a cut over his left eye that required stitches.
So, on to that hellhole that is Luxembourg. Too bad it’s not remotely picturesque there.

Lance took a dive. He just happens to crash the day after Landis busts him for doping? Put traffic cones around this cheater’s career and let’s move on.

Not to imply that Lance has used performance enhancing drugs, but if you think that Lance, and a couple of other top athletes in the world, are the only one’s using performance enhancing supplements to gain an edge over their opponents, you are very nieve. Athletes can only train so much and so hard, they all , eventually, become equal. The human body operates or performs in a cyclic fashion. Meaning we are at our strongest peak for only a short period of time before we start to lose our speed and strength. Unfortunately we cannot always be at our peak, we would not be human. This is where performance enhancing supplements come into play. Vitamins, amino acids, caffiene, most of us have used these supplements, and we don’t think that, probably, at one time and place, they may have been illegal supplements. So, the question is, who are the people with power labeling blood doping illegal? Every top athlete has used some type of performance enhancing drug at some time in their lives, that what sets ALL STARS apart from the rest of the pack. Again, this is not implying that Lance has used or is using performance enhancing drugs, its just a way to help you see through the smoke and mirrors.
