Saturday Blogdome: For Sale To Local Buyer By Motivated Seller – One NHL Team

May 22, 2010, 4:30 PM EDT

Local buyer needed by Dec. 31 or NHL could move Coyotes. Today, the Globe & Mail’s David Shoalts obtained the agreement that states that NHL has told the City of Glendale that they have until December 31, 2010 to find a local buyer, otherwise the league will look to sell to a prospective owner and move the team. Shoalts notes that there was no mention of who the owner would be in the agreement, but sources told him that the group in question was David Thompson and Mark Chipman, the CEO of the group that owns and operates the MTS Centre in Winnipeg. Carlos Gomez Pimps HR Down 15-0. I supposed I could be irritated and angered by what I saw but that would not accurately reflect my feelings. Rather, I find it quite humorous that Carlos Gomez’s reaction to blasting a three-run home run with his team down 15-0 was to celebrate. Excessively. [Larry Brown Sports]

It’ll break your heart. [Deadspin]
Jets’ Sanchez, Holmes Full Of Theories. If there’s one thing New York Jets coach Rex Ryan hates, it is media attention. Needless to say, Rex is going to be plenty upset with his QB Mark Sanchez after the second year signal caller told reporters at the White House that he plans to make his second visit next February, predicting a Super Bowl victory. Sanchez and tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson were guests for a dinner featuring Mexican President Felipe Calderon. Ferguson was a last second replacement for Braylon Edwards, who dropped his invitation 47 times before asking to be traded to another state dinner. [With Leather]
Chris Bosh Will Be the Summer of LeBron’s Fun, Intriguing Subplot. The NBA-watching world’s eyes are watching LeBron right now, and will for much of this summer. We know that, and we know why. But it’s going to be a lot more fun to watch Chris Bosh. Friday, a report circulated that free agent-to-be Bosh gave Toronto management a list of five teams he wanted to play for in case the Raptors wanted to work a sign-and-trade; today, Bosh took to Twitter to retort and debunk.
