Morning Tweet: Waiting for Godot Erin Andrews

May 21, 2010, 9:00 AM EDT

Inspired by the way that Tony Romo used to leave tickets for Jessica Simpson at Dallas home games before he even knew her, Triple-A outfielder Daniel Nava has been leaving Erin Andrews’ name on the guest list at every Pawtucket Red Sox home game … for three years. This true obsession came to light when Pawtucket radio/TV announcer Dan Hoard mentioned it on his blog, and again on Twitter, and then discussed his Erin Love with Pawtucket radio broadcaster Steve Hyder:

Nava laughed when he was asked if he knew her. “I wish I did.” He explained that it is a long standing tradition of his, dating back a couple of seasons.

Is Nava hoping for lightning to strike twice. “I’m not counting on it, but it’d be great.” I asked what it would mean to him if Hyder and Hoard were able to spread the word and make something happen. “I’d owe you guys, big time, I guess.”

Hoard now says there’s a rumor that Amdrews will wear a Pawtucket jersey on the next Dancing With the Stars. I’ll be watching Justified, so let me know what happens.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT

What you missed while releasing the Balloon Boy dad from jail, and then mocking him on the Sheriff’s Dept. web site

* Dave Barry does not appreciate The Onion’s take on the new Miami Ballpark.

* LeBron James will leave the Cavaliers … Jim Brown has foreseen it.

* That’s it; Santonio Holmes is taking the Madden Cruiser to games from now on.
