New Nike ad features trailer park Wayne Rooney, other awesomeness

I’ll leave it to the soccer diehards to decree whether this new Nike ad (seen following the jump) really hits the spot, but I like it, so it is hereby declared super terrific and fun. Not only does it grant us a glimpse of a gloomy, apocalyptic future in which Wayne Rooney lives in a seedy trailer park and sports a hobo beard, but we have Cristiano Ronaldo attempting a free kick through Homer Simpson’s front door. Need I mention that the kick results in an exclamation of “Do’h!”?
Sorry for all the soccer today. The World Cup is imminent, after all.

How Nike can transition so quickly from the giant stinkbomb that was the Earl Woods/Tiger Woods commercial to this quality work is beyond me. Separate U.S. and UK ad divisions, perhaps?
Meanwhile, this spot by Carlsberg beer is pretty good as well. You’ll make them regret the day they took on England!
