It’s Dallas Braden Weekend on Saturday and Sunday at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton, as the Double-A Ports honor their favorite son by presenting him with, among other things, a key to the city for tossing MLB’s 19th perfect game. That trinket will not likely be as cool as the gift he received from his shoe/glove sponsor on Wednesday, however. Braden arrived at the clubhouse to find this, a samurai sword. Oakland A’s reliever Brad Ziegler tweeted the photo. along with this caption: “A gift for Dallas Braden from his shoe/glove endorser, Mizuno: a legit (and razor sharp) samurai sword.”
Nice. But is it … Hattori Hanzo steel?
Call me crazy, but giving Dallas Braden a razor-sharp samurai sword doesn’t seem wise. It’s like giving Nelson from The Simpsons a chain saw. Anyway, I’m sure Michael Jordan would advise against it.
Meanwhile, this guy immortalized the perfect game with this leg tattoo. The legend lives on.
