A dramatic goal by Chesterfield in its English League 2 match with Bournemouth on Saturday has its supporters fervently rushing the pitch during the game, including, hilariously, a guy in a motorized wheelchair. The sublime moment comes at about the :30 mark of the video, which is not following the jump, due to recent demands by Threat Level Midnight. Also, toward the end, a guy on crutches has fun storming the castle.
The goal by Derek Niven was the difference as Chesterfield took a 2-1 win. A big reason for the fans’ excitement no doubt was the fact that Chesterfield was playing its last match at Saltergate ground, which has been its home pitch for 139 years; the oldest football stadium still in use in England.
