I missed an amusing thing on Friday; someone celebrated the 24-year anniversary of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off by creating Twitter accounts for the main characters and playing out the movie in real time. It started out with just Ferris, deciding he didn’t want to go to school, and built from there, as other characters checked in during the day.
Jeanie Bueller:
OMG. Found something that changed EVERYTHING. @prin_rooney, if you ever break into our house again, I will microwave your nuts. — 5:57 PM May 7th via web
Mr. Rooney, Sloane Peterson, Cameron Frye and Tom Bueller were also there; although no Grace the secretary, which would have ruled. “They all say Ferris Bueller is a righteous dude.” And yes, Ferris tweets from the Cubs game, although whoever created this could have made it better by picking a day in which the Cubs were actually home (they were in Cincinnati on Friday).
i swear, if cameron says “hey batter, batter, hey batter, batter, sa-wing battah!” one more time i will leave him here. — 1:40 PM May 7th via web
They even threw in occasional Twitpics, and Ferris checked in at various places during the day using Foursquare. It was kind of a flashmob on the Internet. Sweet. OK, next project … Caddyshack?
Come on, come on, come on shake it up Wednesday (shake it up Wednesday), twist and shout (twist and shout) …
