Yep, that car’s in mid-air during the Marrakesch GP Formula One race in Morocco on Saturday. Not only that, but Ricardo Teixeira’s car took out a couple of others when it landed, and then caught on fire. Ta-daaaa! (Applause). No one was injured. But the greatest thing about Teixeira’s spectacular wipeout was the video you’ll see following the jump: In which his helpless, airborne car is seen from the perspective of the on-board camera of another driver, Paul Rees.
Video following the jump.
A UFO — which turns out to be Teixeira’s car — flies overhead at approximately the 1:15 mark. Totally wicked.
The Portuguese Angolan driver, who had scored the best result of his career with fifth place in Saturday’s race, hit the back of Ivan Samarin’s car and was launched skywards into a barrel roll.
From another perspective.
