As the Broncos’ choice of Tim Tebow still rings in our ears this afternoon, we ask the musical question, what was the worst NFL draft call of all time? Some say it was Mel Kiper Jr.’s claim that JaMarcus Russell would be one of the NFL’s top five all-time greatest quarterbacks. But who am I to talk? I called JJ Stokes the next Jerry Rice after the 1995 draft (hilarity ensued in my football pool). But here’s another worthy contender, brought to light by the folks at You Been Blinded. Jimmy Johnson not only sings the praises of wideout Larry Shannon, but downgrades some chump named Randy Moss in the process. Priceless.
Video following the jump.
Can this be etched in stone somewhere? Thanks in advance.
“Everybody gets all carried away for instance with Moss. I don’t wanna be talking about somebody else’s player but I’m just gonna make an example. Some of these people get so carried away. I’d like to pull them aside and say ‘how many films did you grade in coming to your evaluation of how good this player is?’ “
