The next time you think the fans of your favorite team are the meanest and baddest fans anywhere, just remember the term “weapons cache.” Rome police invited the press to show off all the stuff they confiscated from soccer fans this weekend, prior to the Italian Serie A match between AS Roma and SS Lazio. Yes, that’s an axe you see there with the red handle, lying next to a pair of pruning shears (?!). And as bad a reputation as Philly sports fans have, I’ve never heard of any of them trying to smuggle in a saw. A saw, ladies and gentlemen (applause).
