Evan Longoria will steal your girlfriend via text messaging

If the Tiger Woods cheating saga has taught us anything, it’s that … um, okay; the Tiger Woods cheating saga has taught us nothing. Let’s move on. Apparently the Tampa Bay Rays will not only sweep into town and pummel your team, but they will also try to steal your women. The Boston Herald reports that while the Rays were in Boston taking care of business against the Red Sox Fri.-Sun (combined score, 13-3), Evan Longoria was doing the same with his cell phone. He allegedly began a relentless text campaign to hook up with a female acquaintance; while said woman was in the company of her boyfriend. Hey, isn’t that what the Friends & Family Plan is for?
“So this guy won’t stop texting my girl,” said our annoyed dime-dropper. “We are at a concert at the House Of Blues and he messages her: ‘I’m in town what are you up to?’ She replies, ‘With my man at a concert,’ and he says, ‘That’s unfortunate, etc. etc.”
“He continued texting her all night and the next day. ‘Let’s go shopping, it’s harmless,’ ” said our spy. “And the next day, ‘Let’s go to a movie today.’ “
The bummed out BF said he tried to “remain calm” during the Text Offensive, but he was rather aggravated. Especially when he found out that Evan was also texting another bartender asking her out, too!
“She, too, has a boyfriend and has told him to lay off, but he stays persistent,” he said.
“I think we should put this guy on blast and let all the guys around town know to make sure you don’t leave your GFs around Evan Longoria while he’s in town because he has no class or respect for other men,” he said.
Of course Evan was doing it all wrong. To pull off this kind of thing, you need the style and charm of ESPN’s Chris Berman, who could teach Longoria a thing or two about flashing the leather.
