Oh Tiger and Elin, where did it all go so wrong? I was rooting for you, but I guess it just was not to be. If a little thing like 20 mistresses, sex addiction therapy, porn star shenanigans and a terribly misguided and crass Nike commercial featuring the disembodied voice of Earl Woods can keep you kids apart, what hope is there for the rest of us? Elin Nordegren scooped up the kids and boarded a jet to Sweden (most likely) today, without Tiger, fueling speculation that divorce is indeed imminent. When you’d rather risk death by flying through tons of volcanic ash over Iceland than be with your husband, that’s a marriage rift right there. Oh well, what’s done is done. You may be heartbroken, but you can still make a little money off of this.
Here are the latest betting odds on this star-crossed relationship, including the ever-popular category “Who will Elin’s next boyfriend be?”
Odds from Bodog Sports, with our expert betting advice following each category.
Will Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren file for divorce before the 2010 U.S. Open
Yes … 1/2
No … 3/2
Go with the no and thank me later. The Open begins on June 14, and it’s going to take these two gigantic legal armies longer than that just to gather all the proper office supplies. They’ve got to agree on a venue, bivouac, set up their tent cities … look for at least August.
What will be the monetary amount of the divorce settlement awarded to Elin Nordegren if she and Tiger Woods divorce?
Over/Under … 300 million dollars
Take the over. My guess is that Elin will want very little of Tiger’s stuff, except the cash. His assets are vast — more than anyone knows, most likely — and she’s going to want to finish want she started with the golf club on Thanksgiving night.
Will Elin Nordegren publicly announce her support for Europe in the 2010 Ryder Cup?
Yes … 10/1
Sure, since she’s been so blabby up until now. That was sarcasm.
Elin’s next boyfriend will be
Golfer … 20/1
Athlete other than a golfer … 25/1
Actor … 30/1
Model … 30/1
Professional Musician … 30/1
As much as we’re all rooting for him to be a golfer, I think “none of the above” should also be in play, and that’s what I would go with. I’m seeing a captain of industry, a corporate attorney; someone who wears expensive suits and has plenty of free time. “Professional Musician” should be at least 500-1. Yeah, I can totally picture Elin with Kid Rock.

Tiger we were rooting for you. However the newest revelation that you were banging a kid in your neighborhood and the no class interview after the Masters was the last straw. Great golfer, no brains. You and your marriage are toast.

Funny, we’re the one’s doing ALL the talking! While Tiger lurks “who knows where?” Does he read this stuff? Probably not. Why should he? Would you? Consider HIS lifestyle, not mine, yours! Like what someone recently wrote “Why are we all worried about Tiger?” And that person is absolutely correct! Say, I’ve got an idea…when I’m done, which is now, how ’bout NONE of us making any more comments! Gee, I wonder who will be the first violator?

Hi Steve – I’ll be the first violator! Tiger makes most of his money on endorsements which means the public buzz surrounding his good/bad behaviour does matter. And as a fan of any sport or athlete, we deserve to know about it. Now, if you were to have 20 girlfiends, whores, sluts or whatever you want to call them nobody would care because you’re probably a lousey golfer and don’t have a Nike contract. Good grief!

That is such a straw man; the idea that Tiger owes the public because he had endorsements. The reason Tiger was paid the most money to endorse products is because he was the athlete of the decade. Dominant. If he were a nice guy with a great family life, but won two events a year, we would barely know him. MJ is the previous dominant athlete and, consequently, the previous highest paid endorser. And his troubles are well documented. Americans love winners and, as soon as he wins, he is back. We don’t tune in to watch him “husband”, we want to watch him play golf.

We live in a different world. Sports and entertainment rule while family values, education, medicine and public safety become things we used to know.
All of us poor folk commenting about a life we have never lived and probably will not know. I am ashamed of myself for even reading this article but I love a good comedy.
Maybe before it’s too late this country will get its priorities straight and shift the balance back to the people that make this country run. You and me.
Life will go on for Tiger and Elin. Their lifestyles won’t change except for another famous broken family.

Everyone need to mine their own business and let them handle their own business. As far as Elin is concern, she did not have anything from the word go, she was a Nanny that latched on to a man with money and now all of a sudden she is so upset. The majority of men cheat, she knew about it from the word go. Stop playing society, everyone know you are going to get paid. Elin can go home and her family will live off of Tiger’s money. Get a brain Tiger and make sure that the next one does not get anything and the pre-nup is extremely tight no matter where you live.

The sooner the better. Give her a bunch of money, say seeya, and get on with golfing and partying. Hanging around with Chuckie B and M.J. is more fun than hanging around “the house” waiting to get slugged with a nine iron. Hell hath no fury like a nanny scorned. Time for her to go back home and to stop ruining the life of my favorite golfer. BYE.

We DESERVE to know about it? Really? What if you never know ALL the details? Which you won’t, trust me. Most of it will be kept private, as Tiger told you and everyone several times. If anyone should know, maybe it should be Nike! Meanwhile, go find something else to motivate you. Let him just golf and hopefully you won’t get t’d off if you never find out everything about him!

Uh, public figure, athlete, celebrity? If people don’t want to be a public then don’t take any money from any sponsors. Then maybe I would change my mind. Wait a minute – nope! Please read my full comment you idiot.

How pitiful..his post Masters interview. What he should have said was it was great to be back with “the guys” I really was pleased with the Patron’s receptiion and yes I am disapointed I didn’t play better..and leave it at that..Not “I didn’t come here to finish 4th”

I agree. Elin won the USA lottery. Let’s support Tiger and let Elin go home. She got her money.

Yes she will get her money….the question is did Tiger give her or his children a life threatening STD? NICE!
