It was a soccer goal celebration like no other — they don’t call the team Man United for nothing — that no doubt raised more than a few eyebrows in English soccer on Saturday. I think the smooch that Gary Neville gave Paul Scholes was somehow caused by the Iceland volcano, but I could be wrong. ESPN, meanwhile, is reading a lot more into it. How do we know? Because the Worldwide Leader’s site ran this photo on its front page with the file name “nevillegay.” They quickly changed it to “nevillekiss,” and then switched it out entirely for something more butch. So just be aware that if you engage in such shows of affection on the field, ESPN will attempt to out you.
Dirty Tackle, which has quickly become one of my favorite sports blogs, uncovered the ESPN declaration of gayness on Saturday. The Dirty Tackle author? The appropriately-named Brooks Peck. You see? It all comes together; it’s the Circle of Life.
Of course, this is still only the second-best soccer kiss I’ve seen this year:

Shall we say “Gay Pride”? How natural and beautiful. And the libtards want this in our elementary schools.

The liberals want English soccer players kissing in elementary schools? The nerve of them, no wonder you call them “libtards”.
I’m assuming that the “tard” in that word is short for “retard”. If that’s the case, you better be careful or Sarah Palin will come down on you like the Hammer of Thor. Unless you’re a Republican, of course, in which case it’s ok…feel free to use “retard” as much as you’d like.
