'Bored out of his mind' OJ takes up baseball in prison

Apr 15, 2010, 2:00 PM EDT

So word is that O.J. Simpson is so bored at the Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, where he’s serving 9-to-33 years for felony douchebaggery, that he’s started playing baseball. That’s interesting, but not as interesting as these other O.J. facts:

* According to a National Inquirer story in March, Simpson is “treated like royalty by his gay posse” known as “The Girls,” which apparently gives him special massages.

* First commenter in the New York Post story on O.J. now playing baseball: “If the mitt don’t fit, OJ must just sit.” — mo-maebly, 04/15/2010 4:37 PM

Heh.

From The NY Post:

O.J. Simpson has been grousing to pals that he’s “bored out of his mind” at Lovelock Correctional Center in Nevada, where he’s serving 33 years for armed robbery. So to pass the time, The Juice has returned to the playing field — although not the gridiron. “He’s playing baseball,” says our source. “As a kid, O.J. loved baseball even more than football. Now he’s got plenty of time to perfect his game.”

Because when you’re 62 years old and in prison, you want no rough edges on your baseball skills.
Oral arguments begin June 7 on Simpson’s appeal, which a judge on Tuesday finally agreed to hear. Simpson and a co-defendant, Clarence “C.J.” Stewart, were convicted in 2008 of robbing a pair of sports memorabilia dealers at gunpoint in a Las Vegas hotel room.
Today’s O.J. Simpson fun fact: Do you know what his first TV appearance was? A: In a 1968 episode of Ironside, he played “onlooker — uncredited” in the episode Price Tag of Death. Kind of ironic, that.
