Scientists call it the Pat Burns/Furman Bisher Scenario, in which it is alleged that Tiger Woods had one or more of his front teeth knocked out during that Thanksgiving Night confrontation with a tree/Elin Nordegren (pick one). Burns, an ex-NHL coach living in Orlando, says that Orlando police told him that Elin knocked out two of Tiger’s teeth with a golf club that night. Golf writer Furman Bisher wrote pretty much the same thing. In early December, and The Star magazine reported that Elin took out one of Tiger’s teeth with a cell phone.
These theories were all but forgotten until last week, when Woods emerged for the Masters and photographers once again gained access to his toothy smile. After close examination, some are saying that one of those teeth is fake. Our investigation takes a deeper look.
The controversy seems to center around the left front tooth that seems slightly discolored in this photo. But if it is fake, was it taken out by the Escalade crash, or by Elin?
Probably neither. Take a look at this message on Sports Journalist.com from February of 2009:
I’m watching the press conference on ESPN and he front left tooth is significantly discolored. Actually, looking at all the highlights, it’s been that way for a while. It’s usually a sign of smoking. Of course, he could have just been hit in the mouth by something years ago. Just curious. — Post by: Rhody31 on February 24, 2009, 12:59:39 PM
If it is fake, it’s a masterfpiece: They even went as far as recreating the discoloration.

Enough…..GOD is great and so are the Mickleson’s….what a terrific KARMA ending Masters.
Tiger is shameful. The world of golf witnessed decency, love of family, integrity, thankfulness, appreciation, gold precision….it was a wonderful sight to behold, watching Phil wear the Green of decency.
Tiger should be banned from golf. He is an adulterer, liar & a man who placed his family can be in a position of world-wide embarrassment. Shameful!

Tiger deserves the shame he must be feeling. We can all do our part by no longer supporting the companies trying to sweep over this issue–as if it doesn’t matter–so they can get back to using Tiger to make money. Ahem… Nike comes to mind.

If you look at pictures from 1997, 2004 or 2008 you will see that tooth has always been discolored. Don’t know why but it was always there.

Richard,
We are all happy for Mickleson. He deserves to win and was clearly the best Golfer in the field. However, Tiger finished 4th after 4 months off from Golf(Karma?). Tiger will win several other majors and easily be name the best golfer of all time. Anyhow, Golf is a Sport. Tiger is not your Priest, your President, Your Governor or even a Quarterback accused of Rape(2x). I think banning him from Golf would be excessive.

By now you have read the sports writeups concerning the Masters tournament. We all know Mickleson won, and I’ve yet to read anything decent from Tiger to Mickleson regarding something positive. But no, all I’ve read is that Tiger didn’t have it, didn’t feel comfortable, didn’t this and didn’t that. That he came to win. He didn’t. So he doesn’t smile or be grateful to everyone connected to the Masters, including those fans that backed him with praise for the past 4 days! He should be fortunate not only to have been there, but invited to play since his scandal broke out. So where does he leave us with? Broken promises, words that were said earlier seemed to take a back seat. Oh let’s all of us cry for him, feel for him! For what? Yes, he’s got problems that are far from being over with. A wife and kids that only he knows what lies ahead. What I don’t understand that when he was doing fine, and considering what he went through, he did fine enough! Not enough to win, but one would think he would have been grateful for just being there! But no, when he had a few bad holes, you saw the real Tiger. Nothing has changed. He simply retorted back to his old ways. “If I don’t win, I don’t smile!”
Folks, all he needs to do is become something such as a Mickelson…or any other golfer who goes out to simply try his best, win or lose. Tiger is in no way at that point and really needs to 1) get his life back in order and 2) simply grow up and stop acting out that I’m here to win, and that’s all!
Someone needs to teach him a few things and he just might someday join the ranks of the Mickelsons’; Els; Palmers’ and the others who come to win, but when they don’t finish first…it’s not the end of the world.
Tiger, you disappointed me the past 4 days. I’m done wasting time with you until you get it all together and make this game fun, not the way you’re going about it at the present…WIN OR I DON’T SMILE.

Anyone who thinks that a celebrity somehow disrespected them by being less than a role model is seriously deluding themselves. The ONLY ones you should expect to hold to a high standard are your family and close friends. No one else should have to prove themselves to you.
Gee, an athlete who lost and didn’t smile. What an abomination!! Call the National Guard!!

Enough is enough.. leave
Tiger alone. This is all between Tiger and his wife. Did any of this affect you? NO. Who do you think you are? Those whom cast the first stone???? There isn’t a one of us that is perfect and Tiger has to answer for his sins the same as all of us. I can’t figure out why this is such big news all the time. He isn’t the first and he won’t be the last. People have chastized him more than Clinton and he was the heasd of this so called country. and look where Clinton is today.

Richard & Mark H. do you two think you know anymore about Phil’s personal life than you did about Tiger’s before the scandal? They play golf, it takes more than money to be a good person and unless you know everything about them don’t assume anything.

Totally agree with you. The best part of the Masters was seeing how much class there was in the field – Fred Couples, Lee Westwood, Tom Watson, KJ Choi and or course Phil Mickleson all come to mind. They were all acknowledging the fans and enjoying the event and then we get Tiger the petulant little man-boy who still hasn’t figured it out. There’s class and then there’s Tiger. . . He might be the best golfer but as a “sportsman” he leaves so much to be desired!

Hi Haters!
Yes, Phil had a great tournament, but he will never be the golfer that Tiger is. The fact is, IF Phil was going to be half the golfer Tiger was, we’d already know it. It’s too late…happy to see him win one though. And to assume you know what Phil is off the course, or what kind of man he is makes me wonder about you. All you know is that he’s a golfer and kissed his wife after he won. You have no idea so please don’t act like you do.
As for those of you hating on Tiger..4th after 4 months of almost no golf. To me, that was a message to the golf world.
Now, it’s your own fault if you are so disappointed with Tiger that you can’t watch him or golf anymore. It says more about you that you put him up on this pedestal, which is why I think many of you weren’t Tiger fans to begin with.
Trust me, I have a feeling this will be the last time Phil will win any major this year.

Steve S.I want to know are you the pope in disgise, or maybe you are the son of Billy Grahm or you are maybe you are this great bishop we haven’t heard of you yet….but there should be any disappointment here it should be with you and those who feel that we or ANYONE SHOULD be should be like the MICKELSON’S! What ever happened to “JUST BE YOURSELF” As parents we are responsible to raise our children to be good people, to teach them the ways of God and love and respect his fellow man, not to teach them to be like anyone but the character that they have become to be and not mike, charles, ben, or ocho-cinco, tiger or obama not even the pope! The Mickelson’s are a good story but we don’t know everything about them to be like THEM! TIGER is tiger and maybe he got that cussin from his daddy and that is all he did so tiger does it now… children will do and say what THEY hear and see or maybe you are not a parent to know this…teach them to be THEMSELVES and not somebody else. Let our children be disappointed in us as parents the one’s who feed, clothes, put a roof over their heads…when we mess up! and not these celebrities that cheat, drink and drive, rape and kill people or go coo coo for coco coco puffs…PARENTS! that is where the role model lies and the the Mickelson’s. We we find in the future like all these priests in the catholic church how they been molesting boys for years…that they been doing some thangs too!!!!!!!!!!! hummmm???????????

My thanks go to those that agreed with my previous remarks. To the others, well, that’s your opinion. You’re entitled to say whatever, but that doesn’t mean I agree with you. First of all, I never said Mickelson was perfect, but he’s a gentleman and has a wife and family that seems to be on the same page. Regardless, every professional sports person who plays any type of game: golf, baseball, whatever, they’re supposed to be, well professional. They’re making good money, that’s their job. When they perform before people of all ages and from all walks of life should act and behave accordingly. To those that sort of put me down above, have you ever heard of sportsmanship? If not, look it up. I learned this years ago. To win isn’t everything and the kids today who are supposed to learn from the elders, how can they if any given athlete doesn’t live up to what they’re supposed to represent? I certainly read some of the “naysayer’s” remarks, which make no sense to me. Also, I never said I “hated” anyone. Again, you’re reading something into what I wasn’t speaking about, so please, don’t write stuff just to write something! If you want to watch Tiger or anyone else, go for it! Personally, there are other athletes today who have screwed up in many ways…and again, that’s sad, because they cheated before they got caught! Yes, I do agree, there’s a lot we don’t know about any athlete, let alone our neighbor’s up the street. And yes, what Tiger did, is his business and it’s up to him how Elin and his kids will endure life as the years pass. That’s not what I was getting at. This man is just too set on winning. If he doesn’t win, it’s a lost cause. He sure acted like that during and after Sunday’s Master’s finish. My wife also is disappointed with his demeanor. Are you going to go after my wife as well with words that make no sense? If so, kindly go find something else to do or write about!

Well Steve one thing you are right about is this is all about opinion, yours mine their’s, it’s opinion, But let’s be clear I don’t support nor condone what tiger has done but like all of us who will stand behind him I won’t look to take shots or be disappointed because he was switchin or because he cussed or he didnt wave at every child. Some people look at someone on TV and say ooooh now that’s class or ooooh now that’s professional, then there are those who look to scrutinize his every little flaw, then there are those who think he is supposed to act, talk, greet, sleep, do things in our way of living that are not his, for goodness sake this whole blog or whatever was started over the color of his teeth. GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! Tiger Woods is Tiger Woods not what you or I or anyone else expects of him nor any athlete, Preacher, CEO, President, Congressman, Singer, Movie star, they are who they are I don’t expect nothing from nobody anymore because these are the times we live in..even the bible speaks in the 24th chapter of matthew that the love of man shall wax cold, so in what you said about our children learning from them has some conflicting issues. Our children SHOULD take the athletesism from today’s athletes look at the talent but we as parents should give them the personal guidance they need to face this ever changing and cold world that they will one day face themselves, cus you hear tiger cuss, or you see that his demeanor ain’t right! well how do you know that fred couples didn’t cuss or nick whatney? or even ernie els? when the camera is mainly focused on you, you might pick up a thing or two, even when tiger is not in contention he gets attention unlike alot golfers that arent on the leader board. We need to tell our children this is sport and it is about winning! and to say winning isnt everything! maybe not but it sure does help! you don’t make millions in competition losing and you don’t play to lose and who says “well I want to go to the sorriest team in the league cus I DON’T CARE ABOUT WINNING!” who says that? I don’t point at anyone on TV and say to my child “now that’s who you want to be like” I try to live a life that he can follow and do my best to hide the flaws cus we all have them. Class it comes and goes, Professionalism is like marriage..if you are not totally committed it tends to be fake and you or no one else can tell me these guys like each and everbody they play with. Oh and tell your wife, not that i’m going after her but just this inquiry…did she happen to notice Peyton Manning’s demeanor towards the end of the Super Bowl? it wasn’t the best either but he’s a $100 million dollar professional that the media din’t say anything about. Is that fair or does that mean that tiger is the only professional that must show great demeanor when winning or loosing? If a adult comes out of the stands and tackles a 10 year old boy cus they were beating his sons team 65-0 and he just was about to score another touchdown how come tiger can’t be mad about loosing?

Hey Steve S. It’s pretty obvious that you don’t understand what makes an athelete stand head and shoulders above every other great athelete in his or her sport like Tiger and Michael Jordan. It’s the desire to win! THAT is the reason why these two and others like them acheive that degree of excellence so far above the others. They actually want to win MORE than anyone else does! Does it rub some people like you the wrong way? Yes, but you can’t have it both ways. You can’t praise someone for being the absolute best in their sport and then say that they shouldn’t care so much about winning and should be affable and friendly after they lose. Has it occured to you that Tiger very well might have wanted to win this tournament more than any other he has ever played in his life? By all accounts he was very appreciative of the gallery and how well he was treated and was only disappointed in himself on the final round. Actually, disgusted with himself and that’s how he came accross.

Your comments may be a bit harsh. Tiger was and remains a product of media and marketing mania. While there is no excuse for his adultery, he has done more for golf than any single individual. The players, advertisers, manufacturers, golf courses, media, tourism and many more have HUGELY benefited from Tiger’s golf career and demise. So maybe your rant is a bit racially motivated. Bottom line is golf and ALL the players can thank Tiger for his golf contributions. There are many perspectives one may take to this story, but one thing remains…..where Tiger goes, so goes the attention of all golf fans. So it is best to stay focused on his golfing and leave the racist overtones in the closet where they belong.

Look, I must agree, Tiger is a fine golfer. To say he’s the best, I would rather not make comment on this at this time. All I’m saying folks is that again, I agree, this man has done a lot for the game. And what’s being said here, trying to stick to the point I tried to make, some of you have gone in other directions. It’s up there for you to read and fall back on. You’re putting way too much talk into stuff that I had no reasons to poke criticism on. It’s simply the fact, like many others do today, is to sometimes talk too much. Say something into a microphone only to be “sorry for it later”. Then again, how often are people doing stupid stuff today and saying “I’m sorry?” That after awhile gets a bit tiresome and worn out. Yes, Tiger was obviously disgusted with himself, that’s a given…see, I’m not arguing these points with any of you. And yes, a man such as Tiger wants to win…and so does each and every golfer that shows up at any given tournament! And so does each and every athlete that plays all sort of sporting games today!
But please, don’t make comments to me as if I don’t understand this or don’t understand that. I understand more than all of you think! It just comes down to once again, how each of us “interprets” each and every situation! And yes, even Mr.Mickelson isn’t perfect, but he showed class when he took the green jacket Sunday. His caring for his wife and the embraces that followed meant more to me than what happened to Tiger and the rest of the leaderboard! I cried too, being such an emotional moment. At least for the moment, it wasn’t just about Tiger anymore! This is my last commentation on this subject. Lets ALL move on. And thank you for your commentaries.

I was and am a big fan of Tiger’s however for the 1st time ever I was disappointed in his golf performance on Sunday specifically the 14th green. Tiger’s reputation was that he tried as hard as he could on every shot. He did not do so with his 2nd putt on that green. He just mailed it in. For me that does far more damage to me than all the rest of the b.s. that has occupied the media and many of you here for the last several months.
I will be watching his golf performance very closely in the next few months to see if he “is trying his very best”. I have been less of a fan of Jack’s. Given that he was not under the same scrutiny that Tiger is but I don’t remember him ever not giving it his best. I’m old enough to remember. Jack is younger than I am
