The aerial assault on Tiger Woods at the Masters has been temporarily suspended, it seems, as the FAA has swooped in and grounded the plane that has been toting the banners. All was calm on the ground on Thursday as Tiger began his comeback at Augusta National, but hilarity ruled the skies, as a private plane displayed three different banners at various times during the event. SportsbyBrooks reported that the plane was taking off from an airport in South Carolina, and that’s where the FAA converged this morning to inspect the plane (read: Augusta officials are throwing their weight around, big time). Finding a minor seat belt violation, the FAA had the excuse it needed to keep the plane from completing its aerial heckling today.
Hmm. Anyone ever think of skywriting?
But Air America Ariel Ads, the Toledo, Ohio company that is flying the banners, is hopeful it can find another plane to tote more messages today. Three more have been paid for, according to several sources; one which reads “You knew Steve, you know.” Referring to Tiger’s caddy, Steve Williams, who claims he knew nothing of Woods’ infidelities.
The FAA, by the way, denies that Augusta pressured them to make the unscheduled inspection.
Watch the skies!

Johnny that is a lot of BS. Tiger Woods deserves every bit of this ridicule that he brought on himself. You want to make millions by marketing a false image you need to take the heat when you get busted. What about the blimps used at similar events? No safety fears there ha. Just a lot of excuses to take away peoples right to express themselves. This country is fast turning into everything it fought against and was created for in the first place.

Fine. Ridicule him all you want to. It has nothing to do with what is safe in exposing people on the ground to a low, slow flying aircraft. I haven’t posted anything in favor of or in disagreement with ridiculing Woods. What I have posted as a pilot is that there is a danger to those on the ground by low and slow flying while towing banners over tens of thousands of people. I personally don’t think it’s a good idea. Ridicule Tiger to your hearts content. I couldn’t care less, but don’t do it in a way that subjects innocents to a dangerous situation.

In my opinion, ALL atheletes whether they are golfers, basketball, football, or baseball make entirely too much money to begin with…with their salaries, you cant afford to go and see them play…along with the prestige of rubbing the common man’s nose in all of their wealth, they need to man up to what they did. They are NOBODY special in my book. They put their pants on one leg at a time the same as I do. That for sure does NOT make them any better than anyone else, nor should they get away with anything either.

Sorry, I didn’t address the blimb question. They are a lighter than air aircraft. They float is the simple explanation. They don’t tow banners and they can’t stall (pardon me blimp pilots if that’s not quite correct, but I have flown one and seen them in stupid high angles of attack with no ill effects). Blimps are used because they fly at about 15 knots, make a great camera platform for incredible golf shots from the air, and offer advertisers a great opportunity to get their message seen. You’ll notice they’re long gone before the weather gets a little iffy. A cross country blimp ride from L.A. to N.Y. would cost you a couple of weeks. It takes about fifteen people on the ground to land one. I love them.

geeesh….no wonder the media rub their hands in glee when they monitor these posts and they just continue to fuel the fire and rake in the cash, who can blame them when the real instigators of this type of trash reside right here and other similar programs.
To Tiger…….one thing to say pal, I hope you and your family work it out and I hope you become a better man for the experience, other than that and contrary to other peoples belief, your family life is none of my damn business, just play me some good golf…:)))
Regarding the banners, who really cares, if I want a quiet laugh I’ll look up, if I disagree with them then I’ll do something that may be unusual at Augusta right about now, I might actually watch some golf.
The only real sin I see happening here, I just spent 45 minutes reading through all of this absolutely ridiculous dribble, watching a bunch of so-called mature and possibly intelligent people (now I have doubts) with carefully thought out names like Black Knight, The Joker and my personal favorite, the The Ricksterrr (…rrrrrrrr), making total fools of themselves in print under assumed names when I could have been doing something really constructive, like sleeping or……wait for it….watching the grass grow.
My bad…I was hoping I might see some intelligent discourse going on here……eeeerrrrrr nup, not gonna happen…:)))

…..and for those of you that may not have seen this joke about infidelity……two friends were having a quiet drink at a bar. Dave turns to Bill and says….
“Bill, here’s a hypothetical for you. If you were to go away for your job for a while and asked me to look after your wife, we got very friendly and ended up in bed together, she got pregnant and had a baby, would that make us related?”
Bill thought about that for a while and replied…
“Weeellll Dave, I don’t know about being related……but it would make us even”
Lighten up people.

All I can say to all, loosen up
To Tiger – drive baby drive
To Pilot – fly baby fly
To Moralist – pray baby pray
To Golf fans – enjoy baby enjoy
To open-minded commoners – happiness baby happiness
He may have lost the moral war according to many but as a professional golfer he has got the whole world talking……in the end he is the boss of his own destiny. Its not mine to judge him on any moral ground. Only God can, TW, embrace the world again regardless of the crap people are throwing at you. TW you can be sure of one thing we are all human….and humans err………..!

WHETHER YOU AGREE WITH THE PRO WOODS SUPPORTERS OR THE ANTI WOODS DETRACTORS EVERYONE SHOULD BE OFFENDED BY WHAT HAPPENED YESTERDAY. THE ADVERTISERS WHO PAY WOODS MILLIONS CAN SATURATE THE AIRWAVES AND INTERNET WITH THEIR BLATANT COMMERCIALISM AND WE KIND OF HAVE TO LISTEN BECAUSE THERE IS NO REAL WAY TO AVOID THE VAST AMOUNTS AND DIRECTIONS FROM WHICH IT COMES PLUS PAYING FOR IT UNLESS WE CAN CONSCIOUSLY NOT BUY EVERY PRODUCT INVOLVED. BUT A VOICE SPEAKS OUT AGAINST THIS AND IT IS ARBITRARILY SHUT DOWN BY SYSTEMS MEANT TO PROTECT US NOT TO STIFLE FREE SPEECH AND THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS ISSUE IS. WHEN THE GOVERNMENT CAN BE USED IN SUCH A BLANTANT MANNER TO CONTROL OPPOSING OPINIONS RELATED IN NO WAY TO NATIONAL SECURITY THIS IS AN ATTACK ON US ALL. IF THIS HAPPENED OVER A SEAT BELT TO PROTECT TIGER’S WOUNDED PRIDE WHAT DO YOU SUPPOSE GOES ON IN ALL THE OTHER AREAS OF CONCERN – WHAT FUDAMENTAL RIGHTS ARE BEING ABUSED DAILY IN OTHER AREAS.

“A Tradition Like No Other”.
How about a biased private country club that tells everyone, including the patrons, what to do and when to do it. If anyone doesn’t want to play by their rules, then they are not welcomed at The Masters.
Why any normal person would support this golf event is beyond me.
The Masters officials want things done one way, their way.

If the news media were as interested in what the health care bill and the stimulus was and reported on that like they have Tiger Woods then we all would be a lot wiser about what is about to happen to us. What happened has happened with Tiger Woods and now he and his familly need to heal so lets get on with what is really important in this country The Survival of the United States while being taken over by Socialists.

“Everyone sins. Everyone.” . But not everyone is a supposed role model. Or makes the millions from endorsements. Or endangers his significant other with the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. Or shows their children what the dark side of society is. How can somebody in this position be trusted anymore? No more role model status. This man’s true calling was to be a porn star. Sex…That is what he craves. That is what he wants. It’s very powerful force in his psyche. There is no cure or magic pill that will stop him from wanting that raw, unadulterated, hot, sweaty sex he longs for. It is not too late for him. He can switch careers & call it a day.

“OMG, show me ONE man who hasn’t cheated. Seriously, you’d be hard pressed to find one,”
OMG? No…don’t need god’s help with this one – I can look in the mirror and find a man who’s not cheated nor broken vows. (shrug) So…maybe not so rare and maybe Joella you’re having a hard time finding honorable men because of who you choose to keep company with.
I don’t care what Tiger did to screw over his wife and take liberties with her trust & health but I can see why she’s infuriated enough to take a club to his Ambien dozed head (if any of the reports are true he played russian roulette with her life by sleeping around and decidedly & repeatedly without any protection- what does that make him??). I certainly don’t see why anyone cares about what name calling others do to him – he’s a big phony POS and is being called out as such. He was marketed to the masses, by his own choice, on his “Likability, believability and popularity” and THAT’s why there is so much backlash.
“they are all pigs.”
Again you can only speak for yourself lady and for the company you keep.

You bet I know!! I was refering to the Bibical story of “He that is without sin, cast the first stone. It seems here that quote would fit ALL of us. I meant to imply if you are without sin, THEN you can fly the banner. Frankly I’d like hear less about Tiger either way.
