Morning Tweet: 'Nightmare at 20,000 feet', starring the Miami Heat

Apr 4, 2010, 10:30 AM EDT

Okay, okay, unlike the classic episode of The Twilight Zone, there wasn’t a ghastly little goblin on the wing of the airplane terrorizing the Miami Heat.
(rim shot)
But seriously, the airplane carrying the Miami Heat had to make an emergency landing in Chicago while en route home to Miami from Minneapolis after a member of the flight crew on board became seriously ill in cockpit.
Allow me to echo Mr. Wade’s sentiments as we hope for the best for the ill mechanic.

ABOUT LAST NIGHT…

What you missed while waiting patiently at the Salamander Crossing:
* Did CBS’ Clark Kellogg let President Obama win in HORSE?

* Jonathan Toews unleashes an anguished oink – er, speaks – on the new mural in Chicago that depicts the Chicago Blackhawks captain as some sort of freakish Pigman.

* Respected journalist Stephen A. Smith blows are collective minds by penning a Cheez Doodles-stained column arguing that the NCAA’s expansion of the tournament to 96 teams is about money. Stop the presses!

Mark just might be the next celebrity hounding photog for TMZ if this keeps up.

If you’re running a high-profile sports website primarily made to take jabs at the idiocracies of American sports for a reputable sports entity like NBC , maybe you should get the head coaches of pro-teams right. Stan Van Gundy is the coach of the Orlando Magic, not the Heat. Erik Spoelstra is the Heat coach, Stan left the Heat FIVE years ago.
