Japan is a land of nonsensical horseplay, confusing shenanigans and colorful non sequiturs. In other words, every day is April Fool’s Day there, so I have no doubt that this story is real. Here is Japanese kickboxer and MMA fighter Yuichiro “Jienotsu” Nagashima, who fancies entering the ring dressed in costumes based on popular Japanese video games, followed by an entourage of cosplay girls. From The Slanch Report:
Yuichiro isn’t just some gimmicky fighter though, he won the 2010 World Max Under 70kg Japan Tournament, so the boy has skills — and plenty of form-fitting Catholic schoolgirl outfits.

Dana White would be rolling over in his grave, if he were dead. Then there’s this, from Japanator:
Every performer needs a good “hook”, and kickboxer Nagashima “Jienotsu” Yuichiro has found the best hook. A better hook than Hard Gay, even.
Hard Gay? Yeah, I had top look that one up. We’ve just about had it with you, Japan. Stop it.

Oh lord. This guy actually fights dressed as a variety of Touhou characters, even Hatsune Miku based on the pic before the jump. I’m honestly not surprised.
Now if only we could convince American fighters to do the same, we might actually have some real comedy. ^_^
ReCaptha: please revolver. Quite appropriate, I’d imagine.
