Child abuse alert: Alabama couple names their baby Crimson Tide
Apr 1, 2010, 12:00 PM EDT
We thought that it might just be temporary insanity when huge crowds lined up at several Alabama Walmarts for a chance to see the National Championship trophy. Or maybe it was something in the water, like in The Crazies. But no, this insanity seems to be well entrenched, as evidenced by this: A Tallassee, Ala., couple have named their two-month-old boy Crimson Tide Redd. (Not pictured).
J.L., the dad:
“Everybody seems pretty cool when we tell then his name,” said J.L., a Tallassee police officer. “Most people don’t even believe you at first.”
Of course, the baby would be worth a lot more if autographed by Lou Nick Saban. But there’s still time for that.
Jackie, the mom:
“We don;t want to force him into anything, she said. “But he does already have a lot of Alabama stuff.”
Disturbing details here.
And happy birthday, JaDarious!

The Crimson Tide is a wonderful football team with a loosely affiliated school of some kind. I think maybe they teach farming or something.
Roll Tide Roll!

Isn’t “Crimson Tide” another way to say the “Monthly Bill”?

I dunno, naming my kid “Quinnipiac Bobcats Midnight” hasn’t worked out too terribly.

The parents are nice, well educated people from good, hard working God fearing families. Baby Ty is cute as can be. We live in the USA and can name our babies whatever we please. You all are just mean.
