She's Out Of My League: Kid goes to prom with UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste
Mar 24, 2010, 10:00 AM EDT
Conner Cordova, a skinny, somewhat nerdy 18-year-old senior at Dakota Ridge High School in Littleton, CO, didn’t have a date for the senior dance. So he did the normal thing: Make a YouTube video asking UFC ring girl and Maxim model Arianny Celeste if she would go with him. Celeste, also known as Octagon Girl, knows good publicity when she sees it, and actually said yes. Or perhaps I’m just envious, and this is true love. Whichever, as they said in Porky’s, Cordova got a “night to remember.”
The story of the original video is kind of old by now, but the dance just happened Saturday, so here you go. Video following the jump.
Great line by Cordova when asked by George Lopez on Lopez Tonight why he chose Celeste:
“I’ve always loved MMA, and she provides a great service by telling us all what round it is.”
Among her “career goals” on Celeste’s UFC bio page is “Further my entertainment resume with modeling, singing and acting. Own my own fitness/health/beauty center.” Cordova’s original video is below, and it all seems a little too slickly produced not to be a UFC gimmick. But maybe I’m wrong. From the Denver Post:
Cordova had a crush on her and, via YouTube, begged her to come to the dance. She said, “Yes,” and there she was Saturday night.
“This is better than my own prom date in ’04,” said Celeste. OK, but why go to the senior dance with this scrawny kid?
“It caught my eye,” she said. “He really put a lot of effort into this.”
Cordova told me Sunday that they were “rockin’ it” at the dance. “And I ended up getting a kiss, which was awesome.”
It wasn’t a late date — mainly because Cordova had to get up at dawn to be on “Fox & Friends.”
“I have her number,” he said. “We’re going to stay in touch.”

Too bad she accepted – no “normal” girl will ever be good enough for him now – he’s totally corrupted and he will only want a bimbo with plastic boobs – dumb move. A future Tiger and Jesse James in the making.

I don’t think Conner is nerdy. He seems like a funny guy, and not bad looking. I bet they had a fun night!

I’ve had the pleasure of speaking with Conner, and there is nothing about this situation that was faked. What you failed to mention is that Cordova and Celeste turned their date into a benefit / fundraiser to raise money for Haiti…
As to Marlena’s comments, I know it’s hard some times, but try to see the good in people from time-to-time. This is an 18-year-old kid who did a great thing (the fundraiser) and doesn’t deserve to have people who had never heard of him before reading this story judging him in the category of the current “bad husbands” in the gossip mags.
Lastly, his website is MMA Religion (www.mmareligion.com) and he’s been doing the video thing for some time. He’s a hard working kid and it’s a pleasure to call him a colleague and an acquaintance. I’m 13 years older than him and he’s an inspiration to me…

I cannot even hate. I would have taken her to my prom. Plus they raised money for Haiti. I say good job all around!
