Cuban baseball fight needs Benny Hill soundtrack

Mar 11, 2010, 9:00 PM EDT

We take you now to Jose Antonio Huelga Stadium in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba., where a Cuban Baseball League game goes extremely haywire. Lisban Correa, a catcher for Inudstriales, a team based in Havana, is hit by a pitch, and proceeds to chase the pitcher into the outfield, swinging the bat the entire way. Notice the second baseman, who fails to get an assist as he sprints past the bat-wielding batter instead of helping his teammate. Be sure to watch a minute or so later as another bat-swinging assailant enters the fray.
Video following the jump.

As always, the description is much better when translated from its original Spanish:

Earlier today in Sancti Spiritus,a city in central Cuba there was a baseball game unlike any other. Batter Elizabeth Corea stepped up to bat and the pitcher mistakenly hit Corea in the rib with the baseball. The ball was said to be at 90mph speed so you know that hurt to the extreme.

Upset by the pitcher’s missue of the baseball Corea kept the bat in his hand and chased the pitcher around the baseball field. Corea then began to try and beat the pitcher with the bat but other players got in the way. When both teams ran out on the field it became a mess. It took about 5 minutes to break up the brawl.

Breaking sports news video. MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL highlights and more.

New word in my vocabulary: Missue. This video is just full of greatness.
