I now present to you Carrot Top; drink it in, ladies. You will never see a more manly presentation of comical props in the city of Las Vegas … I mean now that Tiger’s in rehab. (Fun fact: His real name is Scott Thompson, and his parents are both scientists. This is true). Now that you’re up to date, you should know that there’s a good chance that Mr.Top could be in serious danger on Saturday, as he serves as honorary crew manager for Mike Wallace in the Nationwide Series Monster Diesel race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
By the way, Carrot Top and The Luxor are holding a national prop contest. Here’s how to enter (pdf file).
From VegasNews.com:
In his duties as Crew Manager, Carrot Top will hold the #01 pit sign during the entire race and will also give the Wallace crew a pep talk prior to the Nationwide race itself. Carrot Top, a lifelong fan of stock car racing, is excited about the opportunity. “I can’t wait to get out to the speedway this weekend and help my good friend Mike Wallace and his team,” said Carrot Top. “Watching a race from the pits should be great fun. I only hope that I can help the #01 team bring home a victory. If not, well, they knew what they were getting into hiring me in the first place.”
There cannot be 10 more terrifying words in the English language than “Carrot Top is your pit crew manager for the big race.” Unless it’s “Carrot Top is picking up your children from day care.”
But remember, it’s an honorary position. Like Raiders head coach.
