The National Enquirer, the source that broke this whole Tiger Woods cheating rodeo back in November — and has actually been accepted by the Pulitzer Prize Committee in two categories for its coverage of the John Edwards scandal — is at it again. Woods, says the tabloid, is no longer in Hattiesburg, MS, being treated for sex addiction at Gentle Path. He’s now checked in to The Meadows treatment center in Wickenburg, AZ, for drug addiction therapy. According to the Enquirer, Woods claimed in sex therapy that It was an addiction to two prescription pain killers that caused impaired judgment, and led to multiple affairs.
If true, this means that Tiger’s addictions are so profound that he has to be treated at multiple facilities in different states. Luckily he has the Visa No-Hassle Addict Rewards Card, and is racking up frequent flier miles.
Oh, and he’s also being treated for depression.
“In therapy, Tiger blamed a lot of his cheating behavior on his drug addiction, saying that the drugs were responsible for impairing his judgment,” a source familiar with the sports superstar’s treatment told The Enquirer.
The disgraced golfer entered The Meadows on the recommendation of therapists who treated him for sex addiction at the Gentle Path program in Hattiesburg, Miss., said the source.
“After he left Gentle Path, Tiger flew to Arizona for his initial intake interview at The Meadows, which is better equipped to handle rehab for drug addiction and depression.”
Several outlets reported that Woods flew to Arizona following his televised press gathering in Florida on Friday, but all assumed it was either for further sex addiction therapy, or for a short vacation before returning to Gentle Path in Mississippi. But The Enquirer says that Woods has only begun to address his demons.
Double security has been posted at The Meadows to make sure that Tiger doesn’t sneak out to view the Waste Management Phoenix Open. I would suggest thoroughly checking all laundry carts and questioning unfamiliar-looking doctors wearing elaborate fake mustaches.

So much for Tiger taking full responsibility for his misbehavior. Now it’s because of the drugs. Have you ever heard of painkillers turning someone into a sex addict? That’s a new one!

Since 99.9% of the rumors swirling around Tiger Woods have been false, I won’t choose to believe this on either.

The man has recognized (or been forced to recognize) that he has at least one problem and is now doing what is necessary get healthy. In that, he’s like many, many other people. That’s the whole of the story.

Not a big surprise since he was playing with a badly injured knee last year. That’s probably when he got hooked on pain meds. But I still don’t buy that he was “addicted to sex”. Or that the pain meds led to his affairs. If the story is true, I would be very surprised if he played at The Masters this year.

Mr. Chandler,
Do you really think this is funny? Obviously you have never had someone you love destroyed by addiction. Pulitzer-Prize? You have got to be joking.

Wow, Tiger IS human. I was getting worried for a while there. You know, a few years ago when the golf world was treating him like he was PERFECT. The tournament announcers seemed like THEY wanted to have sex with Tiger too!

Just leave the man alone. He owes nothing to anybody except his wife. We are animals…mating is natural. I’d high five him if I saw him…he’s owes nothing to anyone.

Are you serious? If anything 99.9% of the rumors HAVE been true! Ever since this whole thing started, pretty much every rumor has been confirmed, and even admitted by Tiger himself.

Substance abuse is a factor in a lot of sex addiction cases, and not properly addressing both makes a patient more liable to relapse into either or both of their previous behaviours.

Apparently you are aware of the side effects from some of the prescription pain killers out there. Like Vicodin–some people experience enhanced alertness much like the effects of meth, cocaine and others of it’s like. Still I agree he needs to take full responsibility and with the increase in precription drug abuse in this nation that would be part of the problem.

I would recommend that each person who has made comments on this discussion do a google search of Ambien side effects. I have read several articles by men and women both which were written prior to the entire Tiger Thanksgiving episode. One thing these articles had in common was that all of them had extreme sexual urges which they could not control and that prior to taking Ambien they had never experienced such desires. I am convinced after reading them that there is something in Ambien which causes some individuals to lose total control of their inhibitions. The fact that there are postings by both men and women make me believe there is some veracity to their claims. I guess what we all should remember is that there are people in jail for causing wrecks which killed someone. People who claimed their accelerators stuck and they couldn’t stop their cars with the brakes. I am talking about TOYOTA!! Could be Ambien is the human version of a STUCK TOYOTA ACCELERATOR!!!

Mr. Chandler: Your snarky comments at the end of the 2 parts of your post expose you for what you are: a joke. Suggest you go work for the Enquirer, where, although you’re not qualified, they get Pulitzer consideration for trash like you write.

it’s my opinion that tiger doesn’t deserve either scrutiny or sympathy. i say let him go down in flames or he can put the flaps up and pull out of the tailspin on his own. i’d personally like to see the former…
