Tiger Woods workout photos; he looks a little chunky, eh?

Feb 17, 2010, 5:00 PM EDT

Well, at least we have an idea of what Tiger was doing while in self-imposed seclusion: Watching a lot of daytime TV while wolfing down chips and Lunchables. Sam Greenwood of Getty Images got some (posed?) photos of Woods out jogging near his home in Orlando earlier today, just after the announcement that Woods will be breaking his three-month silence with a pseudo press conference on Friday. What happened to the slim, hooded Tiger we saw in the National Enquirer photo outside of the Gentle Path sex addiction clinic in January? Oh yeah, that was a Tiger lookalike. Obviously.

Also, as TMZ points out: No wedding ring.
More photos here.
I’m not saying that Tiger is in any danger of getting booted off of an airplane and his seat given to Kevin Smith. It’s just that it’s clear there was no lock on the fridge at Gentle Path.
UPDATE: A reader complains that Tiger only looks fat because of the camera angle, and that he is actually “cut.” Ha. Black shirts are slimming, dude. Also that’s a donut in his pocket.

I would love to be that “fat!”

  2. Witchee-Watchee - Feb 18, 2010 at 4:33 AM

uhh… yeah. like Magic got aids 25 years ago? and aids is supposed to waste you and kill you? Is he dead? Did he EVER have aids? Or is it a plot to make the U.S. give more money to countries that SUPPOSEDLY have aids epidemics? Can you spell c-o-n-s-p-e-r-a-c-y ?!?!?!?

  3. Lern tu schpell propirlie - Feb 18, 2010 at 7:43 AM

WOW, PEOPLE! (I’m looking at YOU, Witchee-Watchee.) If you cannot even spell, or use proper grammar and punctuation, then you should maybe lay off posting publicly and think about trying for your G.E.D. again! (Third time’s a charm!) It’s people like you, and your friends, the “Tea Party” jackasses, who are driving the collective intellect of this country down to Third-World status!

  4. Crimes or Curiousity - Feb 18, 2010 at 8:05 AM

Lets take a look at the overall picture of professional athletes and then put Tigers “transgressions” where they should really rank. You have this supposedly superstar basketball player that everybody knows is as guilty as the day is long named Kobe that rapes a girl and gets it brushed under the rug, you have a professional football player in Pittsburgh (Big Ben) that has forced sex also called rape with some girl in Vegas and it remains quite for the most part and a baseball player named Mark who admittedly cheated the game of baseball but yet gets to be a coach for the Cardinals. All of the aboved named plus to many others to list have all committed actual crimes and have not suffered the blasting and humiliation that Tiger has. I do not condone what Tiger did by no means but come on at least he didn’t commit a crime in the process. Get over it and I am sure Elin is a big enough girl to make her own decision she doesn’t need help from the pitiful media.

Am I the only one that doesn’t think it means anything that he’s not wearing his wedding ring?
IIRC, he didn’t wear it while playing in tournaments, no one said a word (yes, i know that was before this whole thing broke…)
I do know plenty of people that take off their rings while excercising, even just running.

  6. Allen - Feb 18, 2010 at 9:46 AM

Well, Diane…you’re not her and the opportunity for the money and/or the salvaging of the relationship isn’t yours either.
Time will tell, but I didn’t recall hearing anyone say he was supplying an ‘excuse’ for why he did it, but rather a public apology for what he did.
So, in retrospect, you’re really not interested in hearing him, because ‘hearing’ him is the last thing you want to do. You’ve made your bed already and you’re in it, concerning how and what you think about him.
You won’t be pleased with tomorrows conference, because you’re not tuning in to be pleased. You’re vengence will be fed because that’s what you want fed.
You’re a bottom feeder, because the only time you become active is when the things that were above come down. You’ll never be the ‘provider’ of fodder becasue you’ll never amount to anything but a reactive person to the activities and possessions of other people. You’ll never be the person who will have anything to be destroyed either by your own hand or anyone elses…you’ll only be the receipient.
Sad, but typical. Create and sustain your own world that’s worth talking about instead of getting fat with glee off the efforts of others.

I can ‘conspiracy’…but you on the other hand…

  8. Rich - Feb 18, 2010 at 9:53 AM

Tiger Woods is a liar and a cheat. He proved that himself. He swears on the course, throws clubs that has hit spectators and doesn’t even say he is sorry.
Golf has always been a sport of ladies and gentlemen. He is not a gentleman and should be banned for life just like Pete Rose.
But because he is a big money draw for the PGA it will never happen.
    Money talks and BS walks.Right?
When he gets back on the course,I hope he gets booed off.

    ———————————-
Rich, for goodness sake, read you first 3 sentences you wrote. “…is a liar and cheat. He proved that himself…” and to back up your statement, you supply “swearing on the course and throwing a club”. What do either of those have to do with being a liar and cheat!?!?
I think you’ve been watching one too many of those golf classic stories that used to be hosted by ol’ boy on the golf channel. What you imply with the term ‘gentlemen’ is not lived out in the history of golf, nor were ‘ladies’ (always) been welcome in the sport.
Get a friggin’ coherent thought and have the ability to the look at the jaded history of the game and where it has evolved and not evolved.
If you see no wrong in the game, than you’re no more worth a person to be at the table to ‘change’ it than you believe Tiger is. Good grief!

  10. Rich - Feb 18, 2010 at 10:35 AM

So you dont think that he is a liar and a cheat????
What got him into the fix that he is in ?
Turn your brain on before you comment.

  11. Call The Like I see Them - Feb 18, 2010 at 10:49 AM

Huh???? Are you saying that everyone cheats (or maybe just you and the wonderful people you surround yourself with) Priests? Molested children? Are you even talking about the same article the rest of us are? You sound like someone on a street corner rambling incoherently to whoever passes by.

  12. Allen - Feb 18, 2010 at 10:55 AM

    Turn my brain on!?!?
Last I was certain being a ‘gentelmen or a lady’ wasn’t a qualifying factor during Q School. Golf is about ability and performing within the rules of the game. If being a liar and/or a cheater has some creedence to one being able to and/or allowed to play golf, today’s game would be absenst quite a few of the world’s best players.
Name the date and time Tiger has been caught lying and cheating at the game of golf. Stop intertwining his right and ability to play golf with his personal life. Sweet lord Watson grabs a mic talking about the image of the game being tarnished while his own history show’s he bangs another tour players wife, ultimately causing his own divorce!?!? Are you kidding me?!?!?
And incidentally, who is a liar too…you? What did he lie to ‘you’ about? Did he tell ‘you’ that he has never had sexual relations outside of his marriage? Did he tell ‘you’ that he is the best Father and Husband on the planet? Did he tell ‘you’ he has done no wrong? What exactly sir, did he lie to you about?

  13. Allen - Feb 18, 2010 at 11:15 AM

    Rich…I’m waiting…
What exactly did Tiger Woods say that later turned out not to be true? What did he say that he didn’t do, that later was found out he did do?
What has been proven to be a ‘lie’ and use that word loosely…an ‘image of him’ or his words?
Note that ‘image’ is two parts, what’s presented and what’s received, meaning both the giver and the reciepiant have components in the equation.
What are you so bent out of shape about…because the question still stands…in both his words and his actions, what did Tiger Woods lie to you about?

  14. KimG - Feb 18, 2010 at 12:36 PM

So you are going to tell me that only ladies and gentlemen play golf? JOKE! I see drunk men, swearing, smoking, leaving their cigarette butts on the grounds, spitting, grabbing themselves… and you are complaining about Tiger? Give me a break. Yeah, he’s a jerk on the course, but he doesn’t act any different than the majority of golfers on the courses all over the country. That is probably why people like him even more – because he actually acts like real people do on the golf course. The thing though is, he gets upset, then wins the tournament. That is what makes him great.

  15. Jay - Feb 18, 2010 at 4:03 PM

    Well put Allen.
First and foremost I would like to mention that Tiger’s personal life is his personal life and should be in no way tied to his preofessional career. Unfortunately for him, we the people (and I’m speaking of the general public) have to feed off of other peoples mistakes. We’re too proud to look at our own lives and critique our own mistakes. We have to pick apart the people who live in the public spotlight. I know that its Tiger’s Choice to live in this spotlight, but not his choice to have the media and the public itself pass judgement on him.
I ask all of you this… Have you ever known another person to have had an affair? If so, were you so quick to pass judgement on them or their spouses? Do you know anyone who has had a spouse cheat on them and has still tried to forgive them and worked to try to re-establish their relationship? Can two people not work these things out? I don’t care if its once or 50 times. Cheating is cheating and it takes the same effort to forgive no matter what the underlying details.
Also, I fully feel that Pete Rose will one day be allowed into the Hall of Fame. But Pete Rose didn’t get banned because of cheating on a spouse… He got banned for betting on Baseball… He did what is regarded as a cardinal sin when it comes to that sport… He is banned because he broke a rule that involved the sport. I am Sure that the game of golf has no rule against cheating on your spouse. If it does, then ban him… If there is no such rule, then leave his personal life seperate from his professional life. Or better yet, how about we the public, concern ourselves with our own transgressions.

  16. get over it already - Feb 18, 2010 at 7:27 PM

Mertz, it was not my intention to throw Magic under the bus. Even though I was and still am a huge fan of Larry Bird, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Magic play and was shocked and saddened when he retired the first time. I’ll even further state that I feel the Magic/Bird years were the golden age of the NBA.
The purpose of using Magic was to illustrate the salacious nature of the media regarding TW now as opposed to the Magic story then.

  17. What is a star? - Feb 19, 2010 at 10:30 AM

Years ago, sports and movie stars became heros not just because of their athletic ability, but because they were role models for our kids. They built images which were publicized and stood for what people wanted to achieve. What kids wanted to grow up to be. (Good people, not just good athletes.) These sports and movie stars did not even swear(in public) or they were thrown out. Those guys were more than athletes. They were stars. And they were paid phenominal salaries to be stars/heros.
Tiger Woods tried to become one of these heros. Unfortunately, it is tough to stand alone when the world around you is so publicly trashy. Why not leave him alone and let him suffer his own misery; both familial and financial? Perhaps, without all the slimelight, he can work to change his image.
Mourn Woods, but move on. Find another hero and make a big deal of him or her. Stop focusing on the trash these high paid athletes dish out, and focus more on the good that some of them do, and perhaps our kids will focus on the positive role models and grow up to give us a brighter future.
(P.S. Although the sports associations condone negative behavior, perhaps some sponsors will come through and make it known that the highly paid endorsements are earned for the kind of positive images we can use as role models.)

  18. MYODB - Feb 19, 2010 at 2:00 PM

THANK YOU JAY, there is someone out there with half a brain. Just because we as a society cant leave celebrities personal lives alone ,doesnt mean that him cheating is any worse thant someone else doing it. People come up with the reasoning, “oh, but hes a role model.” Really?? is he?…because if hes a role model..where the f- are these kids parents and WHY arent THEY the role model?
Hes a role model for GOLF, not life. Your supposed to be teaching your kids life, not Tiger Woods. So to me, that excuse is completely invalid.
I would just like to say this to all the people who are unecessarily upset at tiger and who keep bashing him. GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSES and leave the man alone. Stop acting like your so high and holy and youve never done a thing wrong in your life. i bet the majority of the people who are against Tiger are probably guilty of WAY WORSE.
I say to Tiger Woods, Keep playing your game man, dont let these stupid, ignorant people stop you from what your good at. None of those people matter anyway, because before all this they were riding your d*** and now theyre talkin s*** on you.
I will end by saying, think of other celebrities that have been caught in scandal. Michael Jackson, with all the stuff he was said to have done…did that change the fact that he was a musical genius and probably the best entertainer to ever live. NO. Kobe Bryant, still an amazing basketball player. Chris Brown, despite how messed up it may be…still makes good music. So stop acting like Tiger isnt STILL one of the greatest golf players.
    ITS 2010 …LET IT GO!
