In today’s Tiger Woods roundup, we have his golfing buddies beginning to complain that he hasn’t made a move to contact any of them; wife Elin Nordegren stepping out in Orlando for a friend’s birthday party (still sans wedding ring), and one of the alleged harem of mistresses claiming that Tiger got her pregnant … twice. First, Radar Online has photos of Elin attending a birthday dinner party on Saturday, reporting that she “made it clear to Tiger that he was not invited.” Woods, says Radar, stayed at home with their two children, with whom he “was just recently reunited.” Also according to Radar, Woods is back at their Isleworth estate mansion, while Nordegren is staying at another home in a gated community about a mile away.
Last week, Mark O’Meara, known to have helped guide Woods through his early career and who once lived in the same gated community at Isleworth as Woods, where the two would often share practice rounds, expressed disappointment that Woods has not tried to contact him.
“I’m disappointed,” O’Meara said to ESPN at Spyglass Hill, where he shot 77 in the opening round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, a tournament he has won five times. “I’m disappointed for my friend. I was shocked like the rest of us were shocked. I don’t think anybody would agree with what happened.”
Woods has not been heard from since announcing his leave on his Web site while acknowledging marital infidelity. Since that time, the rumor mill has churned with numerous tabloid reports.
During that two-month period, no one in Woods’ management team has confirmed or denied any of the reports. And when he will return to competitive golf remains a mystery.
“I guess he has all these advisers,” O’Meara said earlier this week during a conference call to promote the Champions Tour’s Toshiba Classic. “I’m not his adviser. I would have handled it differently, myself, personally. But that’s who I am. Whether he’s handled it right or wrong, only time can decide that. Tiger is being Tiger.
“I think he’ll probably do something with the media eventually. I think people will forgive. But it’s going to be hard to forget for sure.”
O’Meara, 53, said he has not spoken “physically” to Woods since playing a practice round with him prior to the British Open at Turnberry. He has tried to reach him because “I’m concerned for his well-being.”
But there has been no other communication, and given their relationship — or at least what it once was — that is another in a long line of oddities surrounding this entire saga.
OK, and just for your files, alleged Tiger mistress Josyln James told Inside Edition on Sunday that Tiger got her pregnant, twice. Read the details at Radar Online if you must.
The 32-year-old porn star said she never told Woods, 34, about either of the pregnancies — which occurred between 2006 and 2009, during the same time frames his wife Elin Nordegren was pregnant with the couple’s two children — because she “didn’t want to ruin anything.”
Say what you want about Tiger’s mistakes, but you have to admit that he’s done a very good job of not being seen. At this point there have been more credible sightings of Elvis since Christmas than there have been of Woods.
