Morning Tweet: Jim Nantz will steal your heart, and your soul
Jan 25, 2010, 9:00 AM EDT
The squirm factor with Jim Nantz has been turned up to unacceptable levels recently, making the option of muting the TV and turning up the radio for the Super Bowl a real possibility for me. Yep, Nantz will pull SB XLIV duties for CBS in two weeks, where he will be hard-pressed to duplicate this pudding-related observation about Manning. But as odd as that was, it doesn’t even compare to this exchange between Nantz and Don Imus on Imus’ syndicated radio show.
NANTZ: “Is there something wrong with liking the Jonas Brothers? I saw them four times in concert last year.”
IMUS: “No you didn’t.”
NANTZ: “Yes I did. I got to meet ‘em. I got to meet Joe and Kevin and Nick, you bet. These guys are going to be the biggest thing since the Beatles.”
How can we take anything he says seriously from now on with this quote hanging around in the atmosphere? Yikes. Although considering all that’s happened recently, I would like to see Nantz call a Tiger Woods win in The Masters.
Monday in the sky with diamonds … ohhhhhohhhhhh
