Miffed patients say Tiger Woods getting preferential treatment in rehab, says paper

Jan 22, 2010, 1:00 PM EDT

Tiger Woods is hogging the jacuzzi and getting private maid service, and his fellow sex rehab patients are getting fed up with it, says a British tabloid. Is Woods “playing through” at a Mississippi rehab clinic? That’s the claim by the London Sun, which reports today that Woods is getting preferential treatment at the Hattiesburg facility, such as one-on-one counseling sessions when everyone else must participate in group therapy. Also, turn-down maid service! This apparently has miffed other patients to the point that at least one of them has leaked the details to the paper. Allegedly.

From The Sun:

While they must undergo group therapy, Tiger insists on only one-to-one sessions. He is also said to get maid service, while other patients make their own beds, clean their rooms and have to scrub toilets as part of their therapy.

A source at the clinic said: “When Tiger enters one of the public areas, other patients have been told they have to leave the room. Other patients share a cabin, but Tiger has his own. His special privileges are causing a lot of resentment.”

The National Enquirer released photos on Wednesday that it claims are of Woods outside of the Gentle Path clinic, which is part of Pine Grove Behavioral Health & Addiction Services in Hattiesburg. Journalists and paparazzi have descended on Hattiesburg since rumors began circulating last week that he was admitted there. Increasing the speculation is an ever-increasing police presence at the center, and the fact that workers just erected a wood-and-plastic screen to double the height of the compound’s perimeter fence, preventing anyone from getting a view inside.

For those in group counseling, a special “stop word” is written on a blackboard — which patients must yell out if another one recites a sexual story that gets them aroused. Tiger’s one-to-one therapy means he at least can avoid that ordeal.

But he is still forced to keep detailing his sleazy sexual history — which he had to own up to when he entered the facility.

Meanwhile experts teach him the secrets of “shame reduction” and “setting sexual boundaries.”

The source added: “Tiger’s got a rough road in there. The treatment is very similar to that undertaken by drug addicts and alcoholics. He will have to face his demons.”

Sources also say that when they do walk outside of the facility, they are required to be accompanied by escorts to prevent them from talking about Woods.
Meanwhile, Zeta Interactive, a digital marketing agency based in New York that tracks web trends, reports that the blogosphere seems to believe Tiger’s rehab stint is a PR gimmick or a hoax. Their recent report:

Consider that three of the most popular terms associated with Tiger Woods online posts prior to the scandal were “Masters”, “golf” and “win”. As of yesterday morning, since news of the rehab stint broke, three of the most popular terms used to describe Woods were “stunt”, “lie” and “trick”.

I wonder how many women he has slammed while in therapy. The women addicts must be bouncing of the walls for a chance!

Your one sentence says it all. Tiger did it to himself. Mike in Montana

All a PR spin and front to make it appear Tiger was a victim so he can begin his glorious come back into the limelight… except this time he has no control over the storm that will be ascending upon poor little Tiger when the media, tabloids, and Crude golf fans get in his head….. I can’t wait to hear..” get in her hole” or ” you da ho ! ” … sex rehab will be a walk in the park compared to dealing with the hecklers who get in his head!

    Ken,
Just because the pre-nup may give Elin 300Million, doesn’t mean she isn’t deeply hurt by his actions. I’m sure she could have landed another rich guy that wouldn’t have cheated on her, she did have somewhat of a modeling career as well. Money doesn’t buy happiness and it sure doesn’t make scarred emotions go away. Get a grip. Nobody deserves what she has been through, regardless of how much money they have. She trusted him, gave him a family and he through it all out the window for some trashey Wh0res, (though some of them are pretty HOT). He may be a winner on the green, but he is a loser in real life.

If Tiger is at this facility, then he is likely the only one there that has a crowd of gossip-mongers chasing every detail of his life. What he has done has all the symptoms of being a sex addict – yes, they are real – and he does need therapy to learn to control that addiction. That addiction is no more curable than is alcohol addiction, but it is controllable. Look at the comments made by mdsoldier and by judy – these people KNOW what they are saying. The fact that he is a celebrity and that he is wealthy does not take away from the fact that his problem is real. Praise him for acknowledging it and getting the therapy, and quit slamming him for the special attention that his unique condition requires for the therapy to be effective.

He is a special sex addict- he has at least 3/4 of a billion dollars. As long as he can pay for it he can buy whatever treatment he wants. The 12 step shit sucks- regardless of the addiction.

    Mr. Muncheez
Disregard that earlier post from me- it was intended for someone else. Tiger’s wife did not have a modeling career- she was a babt-sitter when he met her. The modeling story might have been one job or maybe just made up by her or the press.

Pleezzzzzz, don’t give me that “she trusted him” cr*p.
The pre-nup spelled it out clearly, thats why she is personally so rich now.
This marriage was a sham all along so the golf darling could have a pretty arm piece.
The family man persona goes better in the golf community than the black-stud image. This is fact not bigotry.

    celery56,
Yes, she was a baby sitter for that other golfer..I believe from Switzerland. Google is your friend..use it, I’ve seen many modeling pics of her..she was a model (maybe not a super-model) but a model nontheless, albeit not for long though. I don’t believe she landed any of the real lucrative gigs that some models get, but then once she landed Tiger..it was history.
