Wes Welker's girlfriend was Miss Hooters International. Not bad

Jan 13, 2010, 11:00 AM EDT

Not sure if Wes Welker is still on crutches, but in case he is, I can think of no better nurse than Anna Burns. If you’re going to have a girlfriend around to fetch various items and fluff up your pillow (cough), why not have her be the 2005 winner of Miss Hooters International? The Boston Globe photographed the two together at Radius Restaurant in Boston, where Welker met with executives from Liberty Bay Credit Union in connection with his foundation that helps at-risk kids. Burns was also Welker’s guest at the Patriots-Ravens game. As Wayne and Garth would say, “Excellent!”
And you didn’t think I’d mention a Miss Hooters International and just let it go with a mug shot, did you?

A day after the Pats’ pitiful playoff exit, sidelined receiver Wes Welker was at Radius to meet with execs from Liberty Bay Credit Union. (The suits have been big supporters of Welker’s 83 Foundation, which helps at-risk kids.) Though hobbled by his knee injury, Welker happily posed for a few pics and spoke briefly.

Barstool Sports has a rather impressive Anna Burns photo gallery today, which you’ll have to go and find on your own because it’s a bit too not-safe-for-worky for me to link to. The Big Lead also has some photos.

    Who cares! There’s two wars going on. I guess those guys are really
    worried about a NFL player and a hooters girl. No, they are thinking about staying alive one more day. Give us the real news.
    How people are starving, can’t afford to go to the doctor, can’t
    buy their medicine, eat or go to the doctor. I thought MSNBC had more class.

  15. kevjohn - Jan 13, 2010 at 5:00 PM

    Yeah, because I was expecting an NFL QB to be dating a 4-eyed pimply-faced 300 pounder with bad breath.

    And we care because…..

    @comment from Doyle Coppinger
    Because reporters don’t report all the news. Some are sports reporters, some are fashion reporters, some are weather reporters. This guys job is to report on sports, fashion and the weather in those mountains.
    If you don’t want to read the story, why did you click on it and bother to comment?

    Calm down boys. These fake chicks are a dime a dozen. Thought this was TMZ

  20. bob Fontaine - Jan 13, 2010 at 6:40 PM

    Just two… I had at least 5 in mind. And to “Johnny” if they’re only a dime a dozen, i’m set for life and dont even have to cash out my 401k.
