Stubby Clapp's Video Vault: Do the LT Slide Electric Glide

Jan 12, 2010, 6:30 PM EDT

Time for a new feature at Out of Bounds: It’s Stubby Clapp’s Video Vault. Who is Stubby Clapp, you ask? Please release the mouse and exit this blog immediately. Every weekday, or at least every weekday in which we can find more than one, we’ll present the day’s best in little noted sports video gems. Please feel free to riff with your own dialogue. Well, what better place to start than with the following?:
LT Slide Electric Glide: A New Dance Craze Sweeping the Nation. “I had to learn the routine, the whole dance routine in like 30 minutes. I learned it and it was fun. It was probably one of the best deals as far as the whole learning: the dance steps, the whole choreography, the people behind me, the dancers, singing a song. You know it was pretty good.” [Sports Radio Interviews]
More following the jump:

* VintageTube: Old Mets insist that ‘You Gotta Believe’. Here’s what we came up with: A “You Gotta Believe” video from the ’80s featuring Gary Carter, Mookie Wilson, Roger McDowell, some cigarette-offering punks and a wacky scientist. It’s rather strange and if anyone can unravel the plot, I’ll respond by asking them to pee in a cup. (Whoops, there I go dipping back into McGwire story mode.) [Big League Stew]

* Bob Knight Somehow Compares Steroids To Gatorade. While Mark McGwire was lying to Bob Costas on MLB Network about taking steroids to recover from injuries, ESPN was trotting out random people to comment on the subject. They had Tony LaRussa on earlier in the day, and then brought out the foremost expert on the topic of PEDs. Wait, it was Bobby Knight? And he compared steroids to Gatorade? Naturally. [Awful Announcing]
* Random Videos of Horrific Violence: Be Careful Out There, Sledders. Its winter time and there’s snow on the ground, which means that its time for the time honored tradition of sledding down hills in wooden or plastic sleds by people who have no business doing so…and thus sledding accidents. [Deuce of Davenport]
