Mystery of Tiger Woods 'Unfaithful' brand Gatorade solved

Here’s Robert Marlow of Denver with a prized possession: A bottle of Gatorade he found in a supermarket with a rather remarkable label. Yep, it reads ‘Unfaithful’ on one side, with a photo of Tiger Woods and wife Elin Nordegren on the other. Seems the bottles have been popping up in Denver-area stores, and it’s a big mystery as to who produced them, or why they’re there.
At least, it was a mystery. A couple of Denver TV stations ran down an email address on the label and traced the shenanigans to one Jason Kay of Longmont, Colo.
Video following the jump.
Kay said that he and a friend produced and distributed the faux Woods bottles as a “pop art project” designed to create conversation. Well, mission accomplished. Federal authorities are currently considering tampering charges.
Kay tells KUSA that 1,000 “Unfaithful” bottles were planted in stores from Longmont to Denver.

Kay admitted he helped a friend pull of what he called a “pop art” project.
“He doesn’t want to be contacted,” Kay said. “The artist wants to remain anonymous because there are similar future projects in the works.”
Bottles turning up in the Denver area have hand-written numbers on the bottom indicating each is one of 100.
Kay said there are actually about 1,000 such “unfaithful” bottles planted in stores from Longmont to Denver. He said the hand-numbered ones are just the “collectors’ edition.”
Gatorade, however, has quickly sent its minions to remove the fakes from store shelves. And, did he say there are similar projects? This should be fun. Meanwhile, if you could somehow get Tiger Woods to drink from one of the fake bottles, you’d pretty much be set for life.
