Ex-NHL coach says police told him Elin knocked out two of Tiger's teeth

Leave it to an ex-NHL coach living in Florida to get to the bottom of what transpired at Tiger Woods’ home on Thanksgiving night. You may discount this, but I find it one of the more believable accounts of what led to Mr. Woods’ Wild Ride; Pat Burns, during a radio interview with Toronto’s CKAC on Tuesday, said that a friend with the Florida Highway Patrol told him Elin Nordegren knocked out two of Woods’ teeth with a golf club after confronting him about text messages to alleged mistress Rachel Uchitel. The full story is pretty crowd pleasing, so let’s listen in.


From the Toronto Star, via the Sporting News:

Burns said a friend of his in the Florida highway patrol was among those who visited Woods’ home the night of the crash. Burns worked with the police in Florida before coaching hockey, according to the newspaper.

After eating dinner that night, Woods was watching football while sending and receiving text messages from Rachel Uchitel, one of his alleged mistresses, Burns said. Later, Woods left his phone on the coffee table when he went to play poker at a friend’s house. But Uchitel continued to text.

Here is Burns’ account of what happened next:

“His wife (Elin Nordegren) saw the message. When he returned, around 11:30 p.m. or midnight, she waited at the door. She asked what it was, these messages, and who was this woman.

“He kept saying there was nothing there. He went to watch television. … then suddenly, bang! A nine-iron in the face!

“He left the house running without shoes. Elin followed him with the club. He left in his Escalade. She followed him and broke two or three windows. That’s why he hit the tree.”

Doctors in the Orlando hospital Woods was taken to said he needed plastic surgery to repair the broken teeth, and that the facility best able to perform the operation was in Phoenix, Arizona. Woods was then transported to Phoenix.

This matches the account given by octogenarian sportswriter Furman Bisher on his blog two weeks ago, except that Bisher wrote that Elin also connected with his cheek bone. When police interviewed Woods on Dec. 1, they reported seeing him only with a “fat lip.”
There’s no earthly reason that Burns — who won more than 500 games with four NHL teams over a 14-year career — would come up with this out of the blue. If so it’s the biggest non-sequiter in sports.

    Deserved it? Are all of you insane? First off, “cheating” is an idiot’s word, used by narrow-minded pilgrims who think they own other people’s lives. You pinheads don’t even know if she approved of the girlfriends, (yes, it happens all the times in sports and show biz, though I don’t expect most of you “average” white trash to get itand got mad because he let it become public. Second, you think assault with a golf club is “deserved?”

    What all the comments have in common is the difference in the way men and women think, rationally vs emotionally. Which leads one to wonder what the political landscape will eventually become when some emotioal event takes place and women tilt a rational reaction into something even more violent.

    Damn Julie! “simma don-na!!! Tell us how you really feel about this!! Yes ma’am, your correct, we “all” lie to some extent, but not all of us commit adultery. I think no less of Mr. Woods after these revelations, but I hope he puts it right, however that may be. We are all losing sight of the original content of the story, the “allegations” that his wife assaulted him with a deadly weapon and rearranged his dental profile. We need to be concerned that some of you folks beleive that this alleged action is “justified” in light of his wife finding out about his “alleged” transgrestions. SHAME ON YOU!! Would any of you like to recieve an A$$ whippin’ for your miss-steps? As a male, and going thru divorce, the last thing I would do is assault the spouse. It is wrong and will cost you more than you can ever imagine. In one perverse way I admire Mr. Woods, he was damn near killed by way of the assualt and chose not to retaliate. That takes sand. He may be cad, but he’s no wife beater. C’mon ladies, give him that.

    its stating that if you have a possitive charge (ie.. deflated relationship and looking) and you come across a negative hmmm lets say a leach looking for fame and fortune but is super hot, then electron flow will happen… similar to a transister in a semiconductor. we just need to find the bridge some are built in, and some are created… sad lonely boy, RICH comes across 2 hot woman, that are pro’s at sexual pleasure.. uchmmmm (clearing my throat) well what the heck do you think is going to happen… oh i know, but i have kids, and im suppose to be this and that.. well during that party after all the work to get where you are today.. there trickles a few thoughts that I earned this.. well well then after a few of those, do you think sex with his wife was ever the same again, hehehe, no way. trust me ive had men go down on me and woman.. and ill tell ya what, when its a nasty girl that knows what she is doing with no hold back, with all the talk, and grunting, and passion, and heat.. well forgetabout, the holding your wife on a pedastal, so you do offend her when all you really want to do is XXX.. but if you cant admit that then forget it. you wont get it.     Julie,Julie,Julie, you have an interesting point of view,and it seems, some “experience” in this field (not electricity). His motivations for his actions aren’t my concern, but rather what, in fact, DID his wife do to him that night that intriges me. Did she assault him, if yes, why is she not incarcerated? Questions, questions, time will reveal all I suppose.

    Nope, this case is closed. Nothing will ever happen with repect to that evening, and the golf club. his camp is in damage control at this point. Authorities have backed off. its a done deal. even if his soon to be exwife writes a book, he wont be held accountable, well with the law that is, he will as he is now, being held accountable for his mis representations and that can been seen through some of the distance his sponsors have made from him, but strangly enough they have not killed there ties to him as of yet, just pulled all the adds for now. his list is still pretty good http://web.tigerwoods.com/sponsors/sponsors
    what percentage of celebrities are faithful ? non celebs ? i really believe its about the same.
    the real price he has paid is his kids getting older and reading all of this, and there spirit and feelings for there dad being tarnished, we all like to think our parents are super heros and do no wrong.. we love them and when they do things like this it hurts the kids feelings. thats the shame of it all, its not his teeth, not Pat Burns reporting, not the cadillac sponsor, not his Transgressions, its always always when children are involved or shoudl i say anyone that at the time due to certain circumstances have no say that get hurt the most. that is probably the only problem i see with any of this. no kids, heck its on.

    Yes, Julie you are right I am commenting on the idiots with all this vigor concerning the Woods private situation. It is freakin funny to see people get worked up over someone elses business with the intensity and anger displayed. But, don’t get me wrong I am enjoying reading just how stupid and petty people are and the ease in which idiots inject the “N” word. But, man you have some interesting insight into sexual behavior.     what are the odds that Julie is a guy messin around with us?? Some instances in life transcend money, morality, and the law … and this is one of those instances. His teeth hitting the floor like someone spilled their tic-tacs ….. that moment can never be taken away from that Scandavian she-devil. Good for her!
