What am I going to do with these tickets to Las Vegas? Is there anything else to do there?
Promoter Bob Arum, who is starting to make Mr. Haney from Green Acres look like Walter Cronkite, says that the Floyd Mayweather Jr.-Manny Pacquiao “Fight of the Century” has been canceled. At issue is drug testing; how to do it, when to do it, and just how much blood to take (no topping off!). Actually, Mayweather’s camp is insisting on random, Olympic-style blood testing, which Arum and Pacquiao are refusing to do. They say that Mayweather is just making ridiculous, Dracula-like conditions so that he doesn’t have to fight Pacquiao. David Mayo of the Grand Rapids Press has the exclusive.
“We’re going in a different direction,” Arum said. “What I believe is that Floyd never really wanted the fight and this is just harassment of Pacquiao.
“Floyd, to me, is a coward and he’s always been a coward,” Arum said. “Not a physical coward, but a coward because he’s afraid to face somebody who could beat him. And believe me, Manny Pacquiao could beat him. So he’ll go his way, we’ll go our way, and that’ll be fine.
“Manny Pacquiao doesn’t know anything about drugs. This is just typical nastiness by wise guys like (adviser Leonard) Ellerbe and Mayweather. They’re just wise guys.”
Of course, this superfight will be off until it suddenly isn’t. Brooks of Sports by Brooks put it best this morning:
Anyone who has followed boxing and Arum for more than five minutes knows this fight will come off somehow some way, but let’s play pretend with Arum. This is probably the last, big moment for the venerable promoter, so I’ll indulge him.
If there’s anything more to this besides Arum’s grandstanding, it probably involves money, Mayweather’s ego, or both.
Anyway, Arum is not the ones who Mayweather has to convince. Pacquiao takes all of his orders from a higher authority.

I’m at a lost why everyone is attacking Mayweather regarding the testing. Please read how the testing policy is…Instead of just Urine they can take blood…Randomly up to 48Hours before the fight not Mandatory but Randomly at there discretion. I’m a Pac fan and I 110% think he should agree to this style testing. I see zero real reason not to. I’ve boxed and the people on here talking about this makes you weaker obviously don’t know anything about boxing. BOXING NEEDS THIS FIGHT, MAYWEATHER SIGNED AND AGREED TO THE FIGHT. PACMAN AGREED TO THE FIGHT AND THE TERMS UNTIL NOW. This testing isn’t new, it was there from the beginning and they agreed hence the announcement of the fight. This is all on Pac and to be blunt I’m losing respect for him every second. As a former boxer and to be getting paid 40Million(which is incentive enough) but he agreed to this already…Why is he backing out now? Now I think he should be tested!!

Pac said he would give a vial of blood a week before the fight and RIGHT after the fight if they needed blood testing, he just doesn’t want his body or mind to be disturbed in any way that close (48 hours) to the fight. He has a fear of needles and doesn’t need any distractions prior to a fight this big, why isn’t his willingness to give blood right after the fight good enough for Floyd? Because he is SCARED, he doesn’t want the fight and this is his way to make it look like not his fault…

Punkiao backs out and Mayweather’s “scared”? Are you people out of your minds? I could understand if Mayweather said he wasn’t going to fight at 147 because he wanted to fight at 154, but he didn’t. I could understand if Mayweather said he wasn’t going to fight if he had to pay $1 million for each pound he was overweight, but he didn’t. I could understand if Mayweather said he wasn’t going to fight because March 13th was too soon, but he didn’t. The only one who hasn’t agreed to something and said they weren’t going to fight is Punkiao, why? Mayweather is being held to the same regulations as Punkiao and has no problem with the drug testing so why would Punkiao? How is this Mayweather’s fault when the only roadblock is Punkiao? Both sides make concessions, that’s how negotiations work and Mayweather has accepted everything Punkiao and his camp have asked for but Punkiao can’t accept something that is nearly univerally accepted in the sports world? That’s ridiculous and it’s entirely Punkiao’s fault, not Mayweather’s.

I’m a boxing fan and not really a fan of either of these fighters and I have to say that if a fighter stands to make 40+ million on a fight and refuses to do Olympic style testing then something is wrong. Pac couldn’t make this much fighting any of the other contenders so he must have something to hide or I think that it’s Pac who didn’t really want to fight Floyd Jr and this is his way out.

Calm down people, this is just pre-fight hype that will get “resolved”. Neither camp is gonna walk away from this payday.

i could have not said it better than diamondduq. this fight deserves higher standards than your typical vegas fight. with the advancement & complexities of doping; there should be olympic style testing. yeah mayweather has a big mouth, but he is not a cheat. i respect his stance on this matter. he has nothing to hide. now manny has to prove him wrong…

First off both sides fans need to calm down, I’m a fan of both Pac and May. I think both sides need to come to an agreement unlimited urinalysis and blood testing once a week up till four days before the fight and then to make everyone happy they take the final test in front of everybody after the fight in the middle of the ring. If pac is juicin doin it 3 or 4 days a week will have no benefit especially if he doesn’t know when in the week the test is and then he has to let his body detox. Mayweather needs to back off the usada doing the testing because they will not alter their testing for anybody its how they get paid. Wada should be sufficient and then an agreement that all urine and blood can be tested as many times as deemed necessary for up to a year after the fight just in case a new test becomes available and can detect something previously undetectable. If that doesn’t satisfy both sides us the fans need to make it clear to top rank and golden boy that if they don’t fight they won’t get one pay per view buy for the rest of either fighters careers (yes you too filipinos will have to stop supporting pac) This fight is to big and to important to boxing not to happen MMA is breathing slowly but surely down the sweet sciences neck. And both sides fans shut up about the he said she said coming from both camps and lets force this fight to happen. All that being said I want one more person to submit to blood testing and thats Mayweather Sr he must be high to say what he says

ok… drug testing? hmmm, exactly what is the end game here?
scenario #1) both are negative, fight goes on! yipee!
scenario #2) both are positive, fight is ???, postponed/rescheduled? huh? with PPV, a little bit harder to resched, unlike Foreman/Ali in Zaire with your friendly dictator Idi.
scenario #3) 1 fighter is positive, now what? the other guy walks away with the $$s?? PPV audience feels pick-pocketed? yup!
scenario #4) think of your own fav end-game…
regardless what scenario outcome, this is a joke… just fight the way they’ve been fighting for years…
if PED has been a boxing issue, what’s the deal with this fight? how about other fights that come & go week in week out.
go figure, on the ability to think 1~2 steps ahead for whoever brought this up… sigh.

Mayweather is a sissy, he has been fighting all this time and have never asked for any sort of testing. Now, he has someone who is very capable of beating him and all of a sudden he wants testing done. If he’s really not backing out of the fight, then let Pacquiao get tested a month before the fight and after the fight…I dont see the problem with that. This has nothing to do with $10 million for weight or none of the bullcrap, it has to do with what Pacquiao believes and that should be respected…its not like he is saying no, he’s willing to get tested. Mayweather, this is your opportunity to let your talent prove itself and not run your mouth like you have always done when fighting boxers who are clearly out of your league. Here is your chance…prove us wrong, get in the ring just like you have before and fight like a man.

agree totally, take the test
why do these people hate Mayweather so much and give so much credibility to Pac?

amen, something is not right here, and it seems that Pac is acting somewhat suspiciously. Freddy Roach is a brilliant game player and he says that he is cool with it, let it be. All this talk of being weakened and religious rites has no place here.

First May begs for the fight, now he wont fight talking about a blood test….they dont want to get suide!!! Cause if he is dirty, then he was always dirty. Olypic boxers dont get 25 million and they take them!!! Now he scared of needles!!! He is a money maker and Arum knows he’s dirty and his lil PED made in China China champ would be the biggest lawsuit in history and disgrace all of boxing. Urine test dont cut it. MMA did away with those because of there so called greats were PED heads, and so is he. A Philipino knock out artist, please. This should be mandatory in the future and we can clean boxing back up from all these frauds. Started mainly with Tyson who has admited to it. These arent natural fighters. Superstitous….

You idiot, he agreed to have a blood test 30 days before, and right after the fight. Both of those test would show, if he used anything. Isn’t that good enough? Your chicken heart Mayweather just afraid to fight him, but doesn’t want to take the blame.

I cant believe the nonsense some of you continue to spew out of your keyboards. Its laughable… All of this is posturing and thus far it’s Team Mayweather 1 and Arum,Roach and Pac 0.
Arum flailing around saying FLoyd is a coward along with all you silly lil girls who have never taken a shot in your lives.
Floyd has always been easy to negotiate with when the money was sufficient. Ask DeLaHoya about the successions floyd made to get that fight done. He even has agreed to the outrageous 10 million dollar crap from Pac. He has a stipulation that he will be subjected to as well and now hes scared??? Arum is a moron, Roach is an idiot and Manny isnt smart enough to know what HGH is??? Cmon people you all cant be that dumb. First it was Margarito that was indestructible until his secret came out… what will Manny’s test reveal????
I hope hes clean so he can fairly get his *** handed to him.
Checkmate … LOL

just 2 points.
1) neither one of these boxers are cowards. that honor only belongs to bob arum, who won’t take a single blow.
2) there’s a boxer out there who’s far better than both of these guys and who will knock them both out cold, and his name is Sugar Shane Moseley.

I guess u dumb dumbs wont show your true colors huh? let me do it for you. In search of the next great white hope (which will never ever happen ) you are all siding for pacmao. You people have nothing against floyd the greatest pound for pound UNDEFEATED fighter but he is black. you hopped it would be gatti(knocked out) then golden boy (knocked out)etc….. so now you pin all your hopes on the none AMERICAN simply because hes black hmmmmm. wheres all the patriotism. In pacs country they are anti american and look at this fight as a way to say “in your face”( which is a dream)so hate on dumbies and God knows if it was the other way around you would hate on him for not wanting to test. this hate is called white mans hate. you cant beat us so you want to cheat us. Hate on dumbies he will go on and continue to kick a@@ hahahahahaha

yes, pacquiao will do it but not during the training session. So, what’s is the difference between taking it 2 months prior the fight and sfter the fight. Probably you could explain it better than me. I am a nurse by proffession. Thanks anyway for your unwarranted comments.
