Morning Tweet: Just a guy named Joe

Dec 21, 2009, 9:00 AM EDT

Pittsburgh beats Green Bay 37-36 on the last play of the game, and here are some other Twitter thoughts on this subject:

Joe buck troy aikman same as nails on a chalk board and an air horn… Common man — Mattglyons

Joe Buck has about as much excitement in his delivery as the guy that brings me my halftime pizza — jrhippie

Joe Buck made the end of Steelers/Pack sound like the automated message I get when I have overdue library books. Worst announcer in history. — cinatyte

RT @freakshowmikey: Joe Buck disagrees with the call. I disagree with his s***** HBO show. — gregVegas

Yes, Twitter users love Joe Buck. Other things we will be discussing today with little or no emotion in our voice: The 49ers (begins weeping), Brett Favre (he looks like he needs a nap), Avatar (don’t want to blurt out any spoilers).
Scrooge: “You there, boy! What day is this?”
Boy: “Why, it’s Monday, sir!”
Scrooge: “Monday! So I haven’t missed it!”

ABOUT LAST NIGHT …

What you missed while putting up your Christmas yard display

* He’s baaack, Raiders fans.

* The NFL wants your brain.

* Mavs beat Cavs sans Nowitzki.

TODAY IN MARK TRAIL
Mark, is there no end to your incompetence? Too bad you’re not from Kansas.

    He’s my favorite sports broadcaster.

  2. smokehouse - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:00 PM

GKD, how’s that hope and change working for you?

  3. Big Guy - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:01 PM

Joe Buck likes to think he’s stepping into his father’s shadows. Joe Buck stinks and he will never, ever, ever be the man his father was. FOX needs to can the blowhard and get a good announcer.

  4. LJSable - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:08 PM

Actually, I think listening to Chris Collinsworth is like nails on a blackboard. I think he’s a real jerk.

  5. Isaiah - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:23 PM

Joe Buck is horrible. He’s an arrogant blowhard who doesn’t react appropriately to any situation. He has his favorites that he will shower compliments on like a tween girl watching Twilight. If your team isn’t one of his favorites, he can’t find anything positive to say. He’s an egotistic narcissist who acts like anything outside of what he deems as acceptable behavior should be charged as a war criminal and put on trial at The Hauge. The worst example of this was his gross overreation to when Randy Moss pretended (meaning not really) to pull his pants down towards the Packers Fans. I thought it was hilarious. He couldn’t take a joke and acted like he needed to apologize to the viewers for that “tasteless display”. Joe Buck, get over yourself.

Joe Buck the worst? No way.
Try Kenny Albert! When I change the channel on Sunday ticket and then hear his voice, I flip the audio on the receiver to something else.
A bit odd to watch the football game while music is playing instead, but much better than listening to that annoying – Daddy got him his job – moron.

  7. josezeros - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:40 PM

Listening to Joe Buck announce a game is like watching paint dry. Only Castiglione of the Red Sox is worse. Boooring! Even worse and more boring are his TV ads shilling for a national (hint) car rental business.

  8. Pat Scott - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:42 PM

Anyone who believes Joe Buck is a good announcer never the pleasure of listening to Myron Cope (RIP).

  9. Kryptoid - Dec 21, 2009 at 4:58 PM

Chris Collinsworth is worthless…..tired of him always taking the underdog side or focusing waaaaaayyy too much on one player (Bret Farve….and i’m a viks fan!). If a team is getting dominated, i have heard him say “this team has some talent”, cept they didn’t decide to use it in the loss. Joe Buck is fine….boring, but i don’t watch games to have an announcer excite me about the game. Guess some people watch football for the chatter and not the actual game play.

  10. Cibolo - Dec 21, 2009 at 5:19 PM

Pat Summerall? Really? You mean the 80 year old man who couldn’t even remember who was playing the game he called? The guy who basically died 10 years ago and never had the decency to leave the booth? That Pat Summerall?
    You’re sick!

  11. Shely - Dec 21, 2009 at 5:22 PM

As long as we are dumping on these guys, I don’t think Buck is bad. I enjoy to listen in peace while watching the game. I like to see the game and make up my mind on how the play went or should have gone by myself. I don’t need to be awaken every other second with some phony kind of sensational smart guy news from people like Chris, ALL THE WAY, Berman. Isn’t everyone getting a little tired of that?

  12. mick-7-1961 - Dec 21, 2009 at 5:32 PM

Berman was good starting out, but has become THE most annoying commentator…hands-down.

  13. Jim Pace - Dec 21, 2009 at 5:38 PM

No, he is talking about the Pat Summerall who was second only to Dick Enberg (and maybe Al Michaels) as the best there was in the 70′s 80′s and early 90′s. You are apparently either a grumpy old fart who just wants to be critical or too young and ignorant to have a valuable opinion on this subject.
