It’s time for blogdome, where we round up as many great blog items as we can find and stack them one on top of another for your amusement. Today’s leadoff topic: The magical Holiday sounds of former Orioles catcher Rick Dempsey. It’ll be our merriest Christmas ever!

Rick Dempsey’s new Christmas CD will not warm any winters. From “Funky Rudolph” and “Jingle Boogie” — listen to song snippets here — Dempsey’s voice actually sounds better than you’d expect from a guy who spent a career donning the tools of ignorance. [Big League Stew]
* LeBron James Helps Himself to a Fan’s Fries in the Stands. During Sunday’s game with the Thunder, LeBron’s momentum following a layup carried him into the stands behind the basket. While he was there, he decided to help himself to a few fries of the fan. [Larry Brown Sports]
* Hockey violence blamed on Don Cherry (Naturally). At a recent seminar a Toronto neurosurgeon finally said what we’ve all been thinking. That HNIC’s Don Cherry is to blame for violence in hockey. Via CBC News…. [Awful Announcing]
* Come on, at least give the guy a chance! Turner Gill will be formally introduced as coach of Kansas on Monday, but there’s already a site calling for his ouster. Fire Turner Gill started making the rounds Sunday, only hours after reports surfaced of Kansas’ decision to hire the 47-year-old coach from Buffalo. [The Wiz Of Odds]
* Toby Gerhart wins the sports blog Heisman Trophy. While the announcement of the official Heisman Trophy will be announced later tonight on ESPN, the 2009 Sports Blog Heisman Trophy winner is already known. The Blue Workhorse sent out ballots to sports bloggers all over the blogosphere, including yours truly, and 71 ballots were returned. [Foul Balls]
* The Real LT Thinks Tiger Should Beat Jesper Parnevik’s Ass. “Listen I hope he does get back. The first thing I would do if I get back on the golf course, I would go looking for Jesper Parnevik and I would beat his ass… There is a line that you don’t cross over. Not as another player because you don’t know do that.” [Sports Radio Interviews]
* Yesterday’s five least valuable players: Randy Moss, certainly. The biggest passing play of the game for the Bengals went for 15 whole yards. I’m a Carson Palmer fan, and I’d really love to see him play at the level he’s capable of playing at, but it just hasn’t been there this year. But again, this all came against a very tough measuring stick in the Vikings, so we’ll see next week when they play the softer San Diego defense. [Shutdown Corner]
