The big news in the Tiger Woods saga today would seem to be Jamie Jungers on the Today Show, telling the world that she dumped Tiger because he wouldn’t give her money. But how about his wife, Elin Nordegren, giving an ultimatum to keep the marriage together? The London Sun is saying that one of the conditions for Tiger to get back into his wife’s good graces is that he temporarily give up golf. And that she was on the verge of leaving him and fleeing to Sweden, but that Tiger promised her that he “would do anything” to keep her from going.
From The Sun:
A friend said: “The easy thing for Elin to do would be leave him, take the children and get a divorce. She’d never worry about money again.
“She was close to walking out for good. She decided to stay for the kids’ sake – but on her terms.
“They have agreed to try and rebuild their marriage, but Elin will be the one calling the shots. It will be a long time before he’s travelling the globe playing golf unless Elin’s by his side.
“Tiger will have to work long and hard to get her to trust him again. Quitting golf shows he is willing to sacrifice something he loves so much to protect his family.”
It was understood Elin has refused to let Woods tour until he regained her trust – or until daughter Sam, two, and ten-month-old son Charlie were old enough to tag along with them.
Meanwhile, reputed Woods mistress Jamie Jungers was interviewed on NBC’s Today Show, and said that despite their year-and-a-half love affair, the golfer never gave her a cent. And that’s why she eventually ended the affair.
“I didn’t even get a birthday card,” the woman who met Woods as a Las Vegas cocktail waitress told Meredith Vieira live on TODAY. “I got nothing out of this relationship but a broken heart.”
But in in an earlier interview with The Sun, Jungers claimed that she ended the affair because she was “feeling uneasy” about seeing a married man.
By this time, Jamie had strong feelings for the golfer – and seeing pictures around the house of him with Elin made her unhappy. She said: “It was heartbreaking. I imagined how she would feel if she knew I was in her house.”
