Morning Tweet: Who Will Be The Super Bowl Halftime Entertainment?
Nov 12, 2009, 9:00 AM EDT
Talkin’ bout my generation …
I would hate to think that Rolling Stone secretly controls the NFL, but it appears as if their Feb. online poll has come true. If ESPN’s Trey Wingo can be believed, and I think he can, The Who will serenade your Super Bowl party on Feb. 1. They beat out Pearl Jam in the RS poll as my choice, Herman’s Hermits, limped in last.
“Who will play the Super Bowl halftime show?”
“Yes.”
“Who?”
“Yes. Who will play the halftime show.”
“That’s what I want to find out!”
“I just told you, man. Who will play the show.”
“Listen, when they pay the band at the end of the game, who gets the money?”
“Every penny of it.”
“Who gets it?”
“Yes. Why not? They earned it.”
That deaf, dumb and blind boy sure plays a mean Thursday …
ABOUT LAST NIGHT …
What you missed while watching raccoons rush to catch the bus …
* Only three members of Lane Kiffin’s first recruiting class at Tennessee have been charged with armed robbery. That’s, like, less than 20 percent.
* The words “Mike Tyson,” “scuffle” and “holding cell” enjoy a cheerful reunion.
* Hoc-key? Niklas Kronwall two power-play goals and an assist, Red Wings over Blue Jackets 9-1.
TODAY IN MARK TRAIL …
I don’t mind your hostile accusations, but I will not be judged by a raccoon …
