Creepy, Muscular 5-Year-Old Will Take A Nap When He Darned Well Pleases

Oct 26, 2009, 1:50 PM EDT

Halloween approaches, time for us once again to ask the age-old question: Is there anything more unsettling than a 5-year-old bodybuilder? For my money the answer is no; but then I’ve never seen an entire episode of “The Nanny.”
Here’s Giuliano Stroe, who hails from Italy and has only one rule: Those who touch my Legos get their ass demolished.

He’s been training since the age of two, and recently made the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest ever to complete a 10-meter hand walk with a weight ball between his legs.
(You throw down your weight ball in disgust, exit the room sobbing).

Father Iulian Stroe, 33, said: ‘He has been going to the gym with me ever since he was born. I always took him with me when I went training.’ He added there is no danger of the youngster harming himself, saying: ‘I have been training hard all my life myself.

‘He is never allowed to practice on his own, he is only a child and if he gets tired we go and play.’

Not mentioned: It’s bedtime when Giuliano says it’s bedtime. Video here of Giuliano not going to bed.
So the big question I guess is: Is this child abuse? Weightlifting at such an early age can’t be good for bone development, can it? And what of the psychological effects?
What would make this all OK: If young Giuliano appeared on “Barney” and ripped the saccharin purple dinosaur to absolute shreds. I’d enjoy that.
